Twenty people were reported dead from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am yesterday, according to a press releaseĀ from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With this, the total number of deaths rose to 5,325, while the death rate stood at 1.45 percent.
Another 1,182 cases were recorded in the same 24 hours, taking the total number of positive cases to 3,67,565, said the release.
Against a number of 9,554 tests in the 24 hours, the positivity rate was 12.37 percent, while the overall positivity rate stood at 18.57 percent.
At least 1,442 Covid-19 patients recovered in the same 24 hours.

With this, the total number of recoveries rose to 2,80,069, while the recovery rate stood at 76.20 percent.
Among the 20 newly deceased, 17 were males and three were females. All of them died in hospitals, according to the press release.
One of them was aged below 10 years, three were aged between 41 and 50, six between 51 and 60 and the highest 10 were above 60.
One each was from Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, three were from Rangpur and Chattogram, and the highest 12 were from Dhaka division.
So far, more than half of all deceased were from Dhaka division.
As of yesterday, a total of 2,667 patients were undergoing treatment in general beds and 286 were in ICU beds in Covid-19 dedicated hospitals across the country.
