It is often said that history is written by the people who have triumphed and thus they write about their glories and do not mention or write down their mistakes. You probably heard some historical information about slavery and persecution that we will mention to you now, but you probably did not hear the whole truth.

Take a look at the other side of historical events that may be frightening, check these hard-to-believe facts.

Here are some historical events about slavery and persecution :

1- Historical information on slavery and persecution: Abraham Lincoln did not fight the Civil War to end slavery

In fact, the real reason for the civil war in America was not to allow the South to secede from the country, and not to free all slaves.

Abraham Lincoln said, “If I can save the Union without freeing any slaves, I will do so; And if I can save him by freeing all slaves, I will do so; And if I can save it by freeing some and leaving others as slaves, I will do that too. ”

So my main goal was not to separate the country into parts, and not to liberate the slaves.

2- Pocahontas was a friend of John Smith

Do not believe what Disney narrated in the famous Pocahontas that she produced, as it appears in the film that Pocahontas saved John Smith's life by placing her head over his head to prevent her father from killing him.

Nevertheless, historians have unanimously agreed that the truth is that Pocahontas was arrested and held for a ransom, but instead of returning to her people when the opportunity arose, she stayed with her captors and married an Englishman at the age of seventeen.

Then Buckhants went to England to encourage investment in Jamestown, and she died at the age of 21 of unknown causes.

3- First Thanksgiving

After immigrants settled in America and conquered the lands of the American Indians, they held a grand party to celebrate the first bumper harvest.

But they did not invite the attendees of the indigenous people of America (Amerindians) to join them in the celebration.

However, a tribe of Native Americans called Wampanoag joined them for this celebration and it remained in place for a few days.

They also hunted a few deer for eating, after which the holiday became official and popularized by Abraham Lincoln.

4- Historical information on slavery and persecution: The pyramids were built by slaves

The ancient Greek historian Herodotus described the people who built the pyramids as slaves.

In fact, the pyramids were built by the poor who came from northern and southern Egypt.

But unlike the bad and degrading treatment of slaves in other history stories, they were respected for their work.

Workers who died during construction were also buried in cemeteries near the sacred pyramids, which was a huge tribute to them.

And this story explains the reality of slavery and persecution.

5- Burning Salem Witches

You may have heard of Salem Witch or the Salem Witches already in a Hollywood movie or series.

They are a group of witches, most of them of the same descendants, who were reported to have been gathered inside a church and locked up and burned to death.

But that may not be the truth. Some historians believe that a trial was held for them and 15 of them died in prison 19 of them were hanged.

I saw a movie named 12 years slavery. A survivor movie. Then I feel their pain, how do they survive that time. It's very bad behaviour with one another. Your article is really nice.
