World's AIDS Day
Did you know that today, December 1, 2020, is World's AIDS Day?
AIDS or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome in the late stage of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection that transpires when the immune system of the body is already severely weakened because of the virus.
World AIDS Day was first considered by James W. Bunn and Thomas Netter in August 1987. These two personalities are public information officers for the Global Programme on AIDS at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland.
It is essential to note that HIV is not the same as AIDS. Human Immunodeficiency Virus is an infection that invades cells that stimulate the body to combat infection. It makes a person more defenseless to other ailments and diseases. By means of contact with particular bodily fluids of a person with HIV, it can be spread, especially during a sex that is unprotected or a sex without using a condom or HIV medicine to treat or counter HIV. Other possible things are through the blood to blood transfusion and sharing of drug injection equipment. On the other hand, HIV can fall to a more severe disease called acquired immunodeficiency syndrome if it is untreated.
Know that the human body cannot get cleared of HIV, and put in mind that no effective HIV cure exists as of the moment. Basically, once you have HIV, you have it for life. So always practice safe sex.
I hope you learned something today.
