Researchers from Canada investigated the contribution of individual fingers to grip strength and found that the smallest finger plays a greater role than the larger ring finger (know well as the wedding finger). After checking the results of the study, numbers of volunteers found that excluding the smallest finger weakens the grip by an average of 33%, while the ring finger represents only 21% of the strength.
