"Danielle," Professor Stinger warned. "Do you mind paying more attention please. I can see from here you are a million miles away. Your "c" average can easily fall to a flat "f" if you aren't careful, so I suggest you pay attention."

Danielle is suddenly snapped back into reality. Realizing she was in class, she immediately turned her attention to her political science professor. Temper flaring, Danielle stands up. "My friend and one of your students, SIR, was kidnapped three days ago. Pardon me if I don't have any time to dote on you and your minor assignments. I will gladly receive an incomplete for this class. Thank you for the inhospitality."

Grabbing her books, Danielle looks off in the opposite direction and leaves her teacher staring after her spellbound.

Outside, in the hall, Danielle stomps off and soon finds the exit door. She opens the double doors and exits the building to a find gust of wind meeting her on the other side. The strong cold air hit Danielle like a fresh ocean wave. It was refreshing.

With her books in hand, Danielle walks down the little path through campus sorta lost in thought. She was so out of it she didn't see the guy walking straight for her. In seconds she and he collided. Danielle drops her books and so does the boy.

"Excuse me. I am so sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going!" The boy fired in a panic.

Frustrated, Danielle responded. "What were you, in a hurry or something?"

She was bending over picking her books up. She noticed out of the corner of her eye that the boy she bumped into was looking at her butt.

She picked her books up and spun around to face him.

"Do you mind being a little more courteous and not looking at my butt please," she snapped.

The guy's cheeks went red. "I am very sorry. It's just a normal guy thing. Trust me. I mean no disrespect."

Danielle looks the guy over. He is easily six two and has quite an impressive six pack. With reddish brown hair and bright blue eyes, Danielle would've been a tad bit nervous talking and interacting had it not been that her friend Misty was currently missing, and Danielle herself being stalked by a potential killer.

Softening, Danielle makes eye contact.

"I'm sorry. I'm just having an awful week."

"I understand," the boy says quickly. "I'm Lane."

He extends his hand.

Trying to stay patient, Danielle takes it.

"Danielle."

"I hope your week gets better Danielle." Lane says with a smile. Danielle ignored the butterfly in her chest.

"Thank you Lane."

Danielle walks off in a hurry. She needed to breathe and to think. She had to find out if her friend had been found, and to get an update on her friend's brother and his whereabouts as well.

"We've haven't found anything yet ma'am, but we are looking." Detective Sanderson states. "We just got off the phone with your friend's parents. We had a lot of information given to us about Misty's history and this so-called brother she has. We are thinking about keeping you under surveillance. Misty's brother is a disturbed young man whose killed before. He was sentenced to life to a mental facility for killing six different individuals."

Danielle's mouth dropped open. "You have got to be kidding me!"

The detective on the other end of the phone shakes his head. "No ma'am."

"Misty's parents," he continued, "will be coming down themselves to help us look for him and her in several days. By then, we will see what we can do about conducting a search party and even going public somehow with this. Please be on standby and inform us the first chance you get if anything new comes up. Be careful and stay alert. If he tries to approach you again you are to contact the police as soon as possible. Am I understood?"

"I will. Thank you." Danielle says. Several minutes later, Danielle hits end on her cell phone then she grabs her calculus book.

Unfortunately she could not concentrate. She kept thinking of Misty. Not only worried, she also thought about how she needed Misty to study. Misty was the smart one. Danielle couldn't even begin to concentrate.

Danielle decided she was going to go downstairs and get a soda out of the vending machine.

Getting up, Danielle found her keys and exited her dorm room. She locked the door and walked down the hall and then down the stairs.

Danielle walked to the vending machine close to the exit door, when out of the corner of her eye, Danielle saw movement.
