As we stood and watched the heard of zombies getting closer with each second, I thought to myself: This is it!, this is how I'm going to die. I still possessed the sharp piece of glass from the shop firmly in my hand. Without knowing so, I'd pushed so hard that it broke the skin and droplets of blood splashed onto the floor, only attracting the walking dead all the more.
I held onto Caroline's hand as she quietly sobbed beside me and I wedged my eyes shut, waiting for the feel of sharp teeth piercing my soft tissue. But it never came, I opened my eyes and what I saw shocked me, the stranger from the shop had taken the glass out of my hand and sliced his own, luring the zombies towards him, giving Caroline and I the room we needed to escape. But I shook my head and pleaded with him but he simply smiled as a single tear streamed slowly down his face as the zombies took their first bite.
We then ran as fast as we could and came to a stop a mile down the road, falling exhaustively onto a broken bench. I could no longer hold back my feelings and so I let the tears flow. Why would a total stranger sacrifice himself for people he didn't know? I don't think I could ever do something like that. A total stranger helped restore my faith in mankind.
As I sat there I wondered if the world would ever be the same again.
*** The next morning we awoke to the sound of a helicopter flying over our heads, it was transporting supplies over to the dome where humans were gathering In order to stay alive. We tried shouting and getting their attention but they were too high up to see us.
We were looking for a way into the dome ourselves but so far remained clueless on how to reach our destination. As we began our morning journey, I heard footsteps creeping up behind us. I started to turn around when strong masculine hands grabbed me and held me in a firm grip.
I struggled to get free but to no avail, Caroline tried punching his back but he simply knocked her out and through me to the floor. He then climbed on top of me and began removing his trousers. I screamed and screamed as loud as I could, trying desperately to remove this man's breath from upon my neck.
I closed my eyes fiercely trying to distract myself when the weight from on me was suddenly removed. I looked up to see a tall, handsome gentleman now beating the crap out of the perverted gentleman.
Once he finished, he looked down and extended his arm for me to take and pulled me to my feet. As I looked into his hazel coloured eyes, my heart skipped a beat, but then I saw how badly Caroline had been hurt and rushed to her side. "is she ok?" I asked the second gentleman with the extrodinary blue eyes. What Did you expect?, it's a zombie apocalypse and I havent gotten laid in months and there are two handsome guys attending to me and my friend. Can you blame me?
After around half an hour of talking and finding out that the gentleman that saved me was called Cormic and the other guy was called Eamon, Caroline had finally come round.
We were then asked to leave with them and head back to their place to stock up on supplies and we gladly expected....but when we arrived, we found yet more trouble as a whole bunch of the undead circled around their house and their hungry eyes were now feasted upon ours....
To be continued....
