Then out of nowhere Masden felt a strong vibration from his pocket, then he saw Julian began pointing at him as he faintly whispered,"You're glowing." Dario looked in awe as the other two men followed his gaze as they witness the figure chanting something has he stood among the corpses.
Masden looked back at his pocket as an emerging blue light grew stronger and stronger, reaching into his pocket;he pulled out the jewel necklace. Suddenly Dario grabbed Masden's shoulder saying through clenched teeth,"It must belong to him."
A response echoed out that sent chills down everyman's spine as the voice did not belong to them. "You have what is rightfully mine." Looking up from the ground, the three men saw the slender figure as he was floating in mid air like a ghost.
His eyes fixed on the medallion as Masden extended his hand upward in a offering."Please forgive us my lord,we did not know it was yours to bare." The dryness of his throat made his voice weak as his hands trembled without control.
"Ignorance is no excuse, for he whom took my medallion will suffer the price threefold. Just ask king Meldrum." All three men looked at the carcass of the horseman, the same horseman Masden had killed for the medallion.
"Once a great king of Khalil, now just another one of my victims as his greed had lead not only to his downfall but the downfall of his men, family and kingdom. You too will suffer a fate just as he,because my medallion seeks out the greedy among men as i unleash my wrath upon them."
Floating ever so gently to the ground, the figure began to whisper into the air as the three men got to their feet. Watching in shock as the vulture's began to disperse in waves as the dog's began whining as a high pitch noise grew higher and higher.
The three men clamped their hands over each ear as blood began dripping from their nose, then suddenly silence. Looking back toward the figure,he was not alone as the army of corpses had gathered behind him in battle positions.
The hounds had also begun standing in line as they had became madly rabid, fangs pretruded as there blood clamped fur began falling off. The warrior's standing in position as arrows and half broken spears still pretruded from their bodies all had their eyes on the three thieves.
The figure stepped one pace forward as the horseman made his way through the ranks. Atop his horse which was bleeding profusely as it's rigged bones stuck out of it's torn flesh with ever gallop it made.
Suddenly the horseman yielded his horse to a holt before the slender figure looked up at him and spoke, where all could hear his voice. "Meldrum, you were once a king but now you will know what it's like to be a slave. A simple messenger of what ever i demand, the three men before you have let greed into there hearts. As you had allowed once as you tried to hunt me down with your battalion only to fall with a whisper of my voice."
"Now messenger, show your allegiance to me and claim what is rightfully mine and I'll think twice about feeding you the corpse of your pregnant wife." Suddenly as in reflex, the horseman pulled out his sword and pointed at the thieves as he roared out in anger,"CHARGE!!"
In swift anger the army of corpses began to expode forward in speed with their weapons drawn as the dog's tried to out race them in fury. Masden looked at the on coming wave of madness baring down upon them as he quickly looked at Dario in fear.
Dario grabbed Masden and Julian by the arm and in baited breath yelled,"Run!!" The figure watched as the three men began to race for their lives as the army followed close behind. Chuckling to himself the figure whispered in delight,"Run as long as you can, sooner or later...the Devil always gets his due..."
