A tough trek! But with an exceptional final gratification: the Paine towers, Patagonia, Chile 2004. The park, huge and well kept, is a UNESCO protected biosphere reserve. The views are beautiful on each route, but the grand finale is always under these granite towers that drop sheer down to a gorgeously colored pond.

If I remember correctly the lake where I was is around 2,000 meters, the 3 towers reach a height of about 2,800. To get there, you walk for 5 hours, almost all uphill, the difference in height is considerable, especially in the last stretch .

Patagonia offers a lot of nature, trekking and wildlife. It was an experience that every traveler would like to have. The only flaw is that all of Chile has very high costs
