Morath Island
We know little about Morath Island, only that it is a mysterious and complex place. There are thousands of stories that bring us to this place, legends, and myths that border on the extraordinary, but at some point, we are sure that they may be real.
This island was inhabited thousands of years ago by the Morath, a superior race that was unique in the world. No one else was like the Morath. They had a language of their own, immense intelligence, and immeasurable strength. They stood out from the rest of the world, but it was their arrogance that eventually buried them.
Great people with great content
An era of revelations. Outsiders called them "God's chosen ones" because of the spectacular features of their island. Although their language was indecipherable, they could easily learn the language of those who crossed their borders. There was a time when tourism was a permitted activity, as the intention was to enhance the living legend of these powerful people.
To extend the legend beyond their supremacy, that was the philosophy of Morath as a people, and they allowed visitors, and later traders, not because they needed them, but simply to make their way in a primitive world compared to their brutal infrastructure. Little could be traded from Morath, basically art and clothing. Military supplies and food were forbidden. Because of the undisputed quality, the Morath was zealous in sharing all their secrets. Art and clothing were allowed, only because it was the best way to show power, without the need to expose everything that made them great.
They were fully autonomous, not dependent on any of the surrounding villages. They had first-class fishing and agriculture. Livestock is unique in the world, and an impenetrable line of defense is used solely and only to keep their spaces free of any curious foreigner trying to get hold of the wonders that only Morath can offer.
4 failed invasion attempts were thwarted by the "Jade Army". The amazing thing of all is that each invasion attempt ended with no casualties in Morath, and as many casualties as possible for the would-be invaders. They did not negotiate with any invader. Every foreign soldier who arrived and was captured knew that certain death awaited him.
The Morath had their instruments of torture, including their version of the Falaris Bull, which they called "Taurus iudicii" (They used Latin to try to expand their legacy) or "The Bull of Judgment", a twisted version that brought together the "Iron Maiden" and the Falaris Bull that they used on prisoners they dared to invade. But their torture was not to get information, but simply to see the suffering of their victims, who were tortured one by one while they watched and heard the suffering of the other soldiers.
Once a foreign soldier was allowed to live, only to tell of the traumatic experience of trying to invade Morath, for this the soldier was sent back in the boat in which he arrived, but with the mutilated heads of his comrades; simply terrible. They did not care who invaded them, they just wanted to be at peace, but if provoked, they were relentless. However, they were peaceful people. They just wanted to grow and evolve in silence, with no one wanting to take advantage of their power. The real problem is that certainly, it would be difficult for such powerful people to live in isolation forever. Their motto was simple: "We advance together, but not with the world".
The Morath did not follow any religion. They believed more in science and what they could contribute. They had great geniuses that revolutionized their island, but they did not want anyone to have access to their knowledge at all. It is said that in the darkest part of the island, there was a source of inexhaustible energy that was unique in the world, capable of radiating vibes that challenged all our understanding... What was it exactly?
