The Hidden Talent that I Want to Reveal

Some can dance. Some can sing. Some can do both. Others are good with playing their favorite sports. Some can do beat boxing. Some are good with playing instruments.

Some have talents in drawing or any art related topics. Some can cook and some.can bake. We have different talents that we can be proud of.

If there is a talent that I have, I think it is singing. I already mentioned it from my previous articles. I know I can sing but since I grew up to be "Shy", I just hid it.

I was in elementary when I joined the "choir" but it was late since I was already in grade 6 then. I will be graduating in a few months. I remembered I just joined because I need.to have extra-curricular activities in school since I am in 5th honorable mention. I need to have activities to be listed in the graduation book. Some of my classmates who have honors as well have a lot of curricular activities. I joined the choir and I love when we are singing together. We are all girls in the group.

During my audition, when our teacher or the group leader check our voice types, I was grouped in Alto. My classmate who was ab member since then was Soprano. Her voice is so angelic and high.

Voice Types for Female:

Soprano. The highest voice type.

Mezzo-soprano. Lower range than the soprano.

Alto. The lowest female voice.

I Love Singing

At home, when there are occasions and we played our karaoke, that's the time I sing. I have a lot of songs in my mind. I'm shy at first but since my nephew and my niece sings, I also sing. I usually choose "boy bands" songs because their songs are not that high and its not that low. It's proven. When I found out that I can finish a song which I never thought I could, that is what I am doing everytime I sing in videoke. But of course, it depends on me if I want to sing. It's an adrenalin rush when you sing. It seems that all the stress in my mind were all blown up too.

I always sing songs.from "West Life" and "Backstreet Boys". Ome of their songs are low and it can avoid your voice to break.

But when I watched some videos and songs, they look easy to sing but when I was trying to sing it, it was so high that my voice breaks. Those are the times that I got annoyed. Especially when I like the songs. I thought I can sing it but I cannot reached the tone. I think you just have to practice.

Filipinos are known for singing in videoke even when there is no occasion. No matter what our voice is. We can sing all we want.

I remember when I was singing at home, they were all quiet when I started. I felt I was floating. I always dreamed of singing in a concert-like wherein I an in a stage singing my favorite songs in front of the people I know. For example, during my birthday and the celebration will be through concert theme. Friends and family will be there Ooopss!! I'm just day-dreaming.

Even when I took a bath, there were times that I sing. It really feels different when you are in the bathroom and you sing. It's magical. This is because your voice is trapped in a closed area. It's like I'm a performer who is in a recording area.

My Idols

My favorite singer is Sarah Geronimo ever since. Behind her simple face is a very high-pitched voice. Ever since she started, I already admire her not just the voice but also the humility.

I also admire Regine Velasquez because her voice was trained by his father in a drum where she will breathe from there and doing the voice exercise. Now she still reigns because of her powerful voice

In the international side, I admire Mariah Carey. Her songs are all good and award-winning. Her voice is soft but can be fierce. I think she is a soprano.

Playing Piano

Besides singing, I also want to start playing piano while singing. I find it interesting but it takes a lot of patience.

Of all the musical instruments that I saw, piano or organ is the closest to my heart. This is because when I was a kid, my father brought home a red organ. This is where you can simply learn and play music by following the lights in the keyboard or you can play on your own without any guides or a combination. It teaches me how to play simple songs.

We bought a keyboard before but it has no brand. When we went home, I tried it but I don't like the sound. It really feels different if its the original brand. We kept it after a month and my nephew just borrowed it. If ever I will buy another one, I will make sure that it's branded. But right now, I have to prioritize what I needed first. What's important.

Dancing

It's not my talent. Dancing hates me. It's just that I love watching videos where they sing and dance. I'm not into "K-pop" but my nieces and nephews are addicted with Korean's even the "Koreanovelas", they watched it everyday. When I saw one of the videos from a famous girl group in Korea who is "Twice", I already love the song and their steps. It's refreshing though I am just watching it. Their videos are colorful, vibrant and the dance steps are amazing that is why younger generations love their steps. My nieces knew all the steps even the lines of the song though they don't know what is the meaning of it since its Korean.

My Final Say

We are all created equal but with different talents. Some already knew our talents but some are still hidden that we need to find and explore and train. For me, ever since I was a kid, I want to sing up to now. I'm not just exploring it.
