After watching the K-Drama "Cinderella and the 4 Knights", I became more addictive with watching another more. I asked my sister again what to watch next. I told her that I wanted another romantic-comedy series.

Next thing that I watched was the one she just finished watching.

"Backstreet Rookie"

Like the previous one, my sister watched some parts of the series in our house because every weekdays, she and her daughter is with us while her husband and son is at work. So I have seen some episodes and I already like the story without even watching the start. At first I thought it was dramatic series but as I watched it, it was funny and really thrilling.

The title is Backstreet Rookie and I know that K-Drama lovers watched it already because it started last year.

When I saw the lead actor, I already fell in love with him. He acts naturally and very good-looking guy. His face is not an ordinary Korean.

The lead actress is a very cute young lady. Unlike his partner, you can see the beauty of a Korean from her small face. She is very simple but pretty even with her simple make-up.

Their love team was very natural. The man is older than the woman but they have a good connection even from the start.

The Story

Dae-Hyun is the name of the actor in jr series. He owns a franchise convenience store where he and his family take turns in managing. His parents wanted him to hire a part-timer at night because most of the time, his parents have other things to do. If his parents cannot go to the store, Dae-Hyun will be there for even the whole day duty. They also have a bad sales record so they also find was how to increase it.

Saet-Byul is the name of the actress in he series. She grew up with her younger sister by renting a house. Their father died because of accident while they were young.

She grew up thinking by others that she was a bully because she always went into a fight whenever she saw someone being bullied by others. They thought sje always started a fight.

They met several times by fate which is why Saet-Byul already got a crush on him since the first time he saw Dae-Hyun.

Until she applied as a part-timer to Dae-Hyuns convenience store. When she entered the store, that was the time he was in a 36-hour shift so Dae-Hyun was so sleepy that time. He did not notice that he fell asleep while the girl was the one taking charge of the store.

When he opened his eyes, he was surprised with many customers inside. It feels like she was a lucky charm in the store. But the guy was not convince to the girl at first.

He doesn't trust her because he actually remembered Saet-Byul when they first met in a backstreet after being broken-hearted. He saw her with her classmates in uniform who were using cigarettes that time. It was a bad inpression that leave to him.

So even there were lot of customers, he was not decided to hire her yet. He thought that the girl was not serious with working. Sje also thought that she maybe a thief.

But when she was introduced the next day to his mother, her mom already liked her as part-timer.

Despite the bad treatment of the guy to the part-timer, she was still very kind and nice to the owner.

But Dae-Hyun has a girlfirend. They used to be working together in the company who managed Dae-Hyuns franchise store. But he resigned and planned to franchise the covenience store.

Eversince Saet-Byul worked in the store, their sales went up because of her skills in selling. Aside from her beautiful face that attracts people, it was her admiration to Dae-Hyun that made her enjoy her job.

She went into trouble not by her own intention but without others knowing, it was to defend the store from thieves and bad people. Dae-Hyun thought at first that Saet-Byul was a bully because she knows taekwondo which was taught by his father. She and her sister were trained well. But when Dae-Hyun found out that all those issues were not Saet-Byul's fault, he became concerned with her.

One night, one of the groups that Saet-byul fought with took revenge from her while on duty. She was hitted hard on the head. She was sent to the hospital. Dae-Hyun was worried with him and made his girlfriend jealous on her. His girlfriend visited Saet-Byul and told her to quit her job in the store because she was always the reasom why they fight.

Saet-Byul told Dae-Hyun that she will resign because she needs money for his sisters education which was not true. She didn't tell the truth.

Unexpectedly, when Saet-byul went out the hospital, they were scammed by the agency where they paid for a yearly payment for their rental. They were forced to leave their house. They live to the sauna because they have no money at all. She has no work and no home at the same time. The only money left was her last salary from the store. She resigned but only Dae-Hyun knew it. His family thought that she will came back. They did not know that Saet-Byul lost their home.

Her sister dreamed to be part of a famous girl group. She didn't know that the groups she joined before were bad influenced. She left her sister in the sauna without asking permission to her sister and got all the money her sister have.

Saet-Byul was left alone and tried living with her friends house but she heard one of his father's friend who thought that she was a bad influenced to his daughter. She just leave the house and went back to the sauna.

One day, Dae-Hyuns mother went to the sauna and there she saw Saet-Byul. Soon, she found out from a friend that Saet-Byul was only living at the sauna because she was scammed. The mother was worried and get her to live into their house Dae-Hyun found about it and tried helping her caught the scammer. But they failed.

Until she came back to the store. Dae-Hyun's girlfriend broke up with him because of their incompatibilities. His girlfriend came from a very rich family and .Dae-Hyun was the opposite. His girlfriends mother hated him because they came from a poor family. Dae-Hyun realized and accepted that their not meant for each other.

Since hen, he became closer to Saet-Byul until he courted her. He even help Saet-Byul in going back to school. She took the examination. They also went into dates.. Saet-Byul was very happy knowing rhat Dae-Hyun is now inlove with her. But she cannot decide yet because she is waiting for her school examination result.

Until Dae-Hyun was offered by his ex-girlfriend to go back to his previous job as a manager with high salary. His franchise will be back to the company but he can get it back anytime he wanted to resign. So his parents told Dae-Hyun to accept it. Saet-Byul will still work there but with new manager. The manager was the one working in the office and was commanded by Dae-Hyun's ex-girlfriend to make her suffer. But Saet-Byul was brave enough to face it.

Dae-Hyun accepted the job and still have time for Saet-Byul. But his parents did not know that their son is courting Saet-Byul. Rather, they wanted their son and their son's ex-girlfriend to be reunited. But Dae-Hyun insisted. His mother explained that he just wanted his son to have a better life unlike them. So Saet-Byul was hurt and she left the house and lived in the province where no one knew.

Dae-Hyun tried to call her but she did not answer. He explained to his parents that Saet-Byul was hurt when she heard that they wanted Dae-Hyun to reunite with his ex-girlfriend.

Saet-Byul worked in a flower farm. Until two of her closest friends who went there for a visit to a family member saw her in that same province. They called Dae-Hyun and he instantly went there. He went home already when he found out that Saet-Byul was okay there and he said that he will just wait for the girl to come back.

Until Dae-Hyun resigned in the office and owned the convenience store again. He waited for Saet-Byul.

Even Saet-Byul missed Dae-Hyun a lot, she just focused on her work. Until she received a text message that she passed on the school examination that she took. She went to the city to get the certificate because it was sent to Dae-Hyuns house. She talked to Dae-Hyuns parents about the result of her exam and he went to see Dae-Hyun in the convenience store.

They were both happy and in-love seeing each other again and together working in the convenience store.

My Final Say

After watching the series, I felt in love again. A lot of emotions poured into this series. I also felt hurt when the parents of the one you love wants other women for him. I also felt "thrilled" everytime I see them together. They have big age gap but it doesn't matter when you are in love.

What makes me also inlove was the soundtrack of the series. I may not know the meaning of the song because it was in Korean but I love the tone and the rythm.

The movie was very light, realistic and any age can relate. You will feel inlove over and over again.
