Mark Zuckerberg, head of the company, has unveiled a new policy for employees to direct debates and conversations on Facebook's internal communication network, Workplace.
"There's a lot of serious talk going on around the world," said Facebook spokesman Joe Osborne. Mark changed the policy on Thursday in view of these issues.
"We appreciate the expressions and the open discussion," Osborne said in a statement, according to a CNBC report. We have listened to our workers, our workers want an opportunity to take part in debates on social media instead of looking at political issues in the work feed unexpectedly. ”
"We are updating our staff policies and work tools to ensure respect and integrity in our culture," Osborne added.
Some of the recently leaked workplace conversations and Facebook's weekly Q&A review have seen an increase in employee criticism of the organization's policies. With these issues in mind, Facebook has changed its policy.
Zuckerberg said the new policy would ensure Facebook would make all employees feel they were receiving support in the workplace, especially the organization’s black community. This will be ensured by further strengthening the harassment policy of the organization.
Facebook will also specify which parts of the workplace can be used to discuss social and political issues. The company is taking this step so that the employees do not face social problems in their daily work.
Facebook says to communicate with professionalism in the new policy. As well as the work of the organization to continue the debate, but in a respectable way.
Osborne said Facebook will announce specific changes next week
