92. HE IS A PIOUS MUSLIM BUT LOUDLY COMPLAINS/ LAMENTS WHEN AFFLICTED WITH AN ADVERSITY

Calamities and disasters are a test, and they are a sign of Allaah’s love for a person, because they are like medicine: even though it is bitter, despite its bitterness you give it to the one whom you love.

In a saheeh hadith it says: “The greatest reward comes with the greatest trial. When Allaah loves a people He tests them. Whoever accepts that wins His pleasure but whoever is discontent with that earns His wrath.”

(al-Tirmidhi, 2396; Ibn Maajah, 4031; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi).

RasululLah SallalLahu alayhi wa sallam said: “How wonderful is the affair of the believer, for his affairs are all good, and this applies to no one but the believer. If something good happens to him, he is thankful for it and that is good for him. If something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience and that is good for him.” (Muslim, 2999).

Al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “Do not resent the calamities that come and the disasters that occur, for perhaps in something that you dislike will be your salvation, and perhaps in something that you prefer will be your doom.”

93. HE IS A PIOUS MUSLIM BUT ACCUSSES CHASTE WOMEN OF ILLICIT BEHAVIOUR/ ADULTERY WITHOUT PROOF

If people were allowed to accuse chaste women, whether married or not, without a clear proof, it means that people could always make up such accusation, fearing no repercussion. This means that the Muslim community finds itself with a stained reputation. Every individual is threatened with false accusation. Every man suspects his wife, and every wife suspects her husband, and people doubt their legitimacy. In such an intolerable state of doubt and suspicion, every family is undermined.

Islamic law prescribes a very heavy penalty for adultery. However, Islam does not legislate such a penalty without first putting in place sufficient legislation that protects people against falling in sin. It also ensures that the punishment is not enforced except in cases where there is certainty about the offence and its perpetrators.

Thus, in order to protect people’s honor and their suffering from suspicion as a result of uncorroborated accusations, the Qur'an prescribes for false accusation a punishment that comes close to that of adultery. The punishment is flogging with 80 strokes, rejecting their testimony in any case or situation, and giving them the label of transgressors.

94. SHE IS A PIOUS MUSLIMA BUT VISITS THE NATIVE DOCTOR INORDER TO PREVENT HER HUSBAND FROM TAKING ANOTHER WIFE/ PRACTICES SIHR ON HIM

A woman’s jealousy concerning her husband is something that is innate and natural, and you cannot tell a woman, “Do not feel jealous over your husband.” If a person dislikes something even though it is prescribed in sharee’ah, that does not adversely affect him, so long as he does not hate the fact that it is prescribed.

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Jihaad (holy fighting in Allaah’s Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you…”

(Qur'an, al-Baqarah 2:216).

The woman who feels jealous does not hate the fact that Allaah has allowed her husband to marry more than one woman, but she hates to have a co-wife.

The muslim must beware of fortune tellers and soothsayers and not believe their claims to know the unseen, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever comes to a fortune-teller and asks him about anything, his prayers will not be accepted for forty days.”

(Muslim).

RasululLah SallalLahu alayhi wa sallam also said: “Whoever comes to a fortune-teller or soothsayer and believes what he says has disbelieved in that which was revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).”
