As if swimming to shore with a tide pushing you further to sea,
Like seeming far away when you just wish yourself nearer to be.
Listen to me you are not alone you will get through,
Just focus on one step at a time it's all you have to do,
And with each success like us cheer yourself ever on,
Give thanks and praise for every little success you won.
Share the load if you can the burden may then seem lighter,
A problem shared often leads to a future that looks brighter,
And don't worry how or why you do just give it your best,
For we all get our heavy troubles and we're all put to the test.
Every day forward is a victory over the hurt and pain,
Each landmark moment is a success that you gain,
Until the mire that was holding you steadfastly in place,
Is but a hurdle to get over with determination and grace.
So okay you may feel lost and overwhelmed but hear this,
We're all with you sending you that much needed hug and kiss,
Promising to see you through till the bitter end,
Absent from your side but still just as much a friend.
Don't give up hope keep soldiering on you're not a quitter,
You're stronger than you look and we want to get you fitter,
Step back and consider other plans of attack and new ways,
Meet things head on don't bury your mind in a stupor or haze.
Remind yourself of the strengths you surely possess in abundance,
See the prize and how to reach your goal and take the chance,
Keep focussed and don't get distracted with other things,
For all plays out smoother when we convince our heart it sings.
For when the heart's on board the journey seems more fun,
And I know it may feel like your travels have only just begun,
But don't be afraid to make a mistake or two it's how we learn,
There's no shame in daring the fire but fearing the burn.
