Let me start by saying that Addiction is not a new topic in our society today, and its also one of the major causes of many societal atrocities.
Addiction, simply put, is a behavior or habit(s) you are used to and find very difficult to let go(and in many cases, they are bad behaviors like drinking, smoking, s3x, taking hard drugs and many more). Before I go on, this post is open to different kind of review or argument as many things I will be sharing here are based on my personal findings, no one is an island of knowledge.
Now, if you are battling with one addiction or the other, its okay, its not only you and I am here to let you know there are solutions and the hope is that you can actually overcome it. You might have tried out many options, like reading books, attended seminars, see counselors, watched alot of motivational speakers talk about it, listen to many messages that are religious and most of all, you must have prayed. Yes they are good and they are nice solutions, infact those are the solutions, but there is one personal solution many people seems to ignore which is making it difficult to let go of addiction, and the solution is CONSISTENCY.
This is one major key that helps in overcoming temptation, addiction, disappointment and also it helps alot in reshaping personality. When you know how to use consistency to tackle your problems, many challenges in life becomes simple. Recently, I was wondering why people are not consistent enough in matters of life especially addiction, then I realize its not a easy thing but it has a great reward.
Personally, I also have an issue with consistency. Not in drugs but in routines or schedules.
Procrastination really hits me so hard. Been trying to surpass it so I can get out of it. 🥺
