Education in 21st century is quite challenging. Teaching is a wonderfully challenging with a broad range of children entering the classroom and ever-increasing demand for accountability, and expanded curriculum and testing. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks. There are many ways to be an effective teacher. And I believe that there are five essential elements that are conducive to learning. First, the teacher's role is to act as a guide. Second, students must have access to hands-on activities. Third, students should be able to have choices and let their curiosity direct their learning. Fourth, students need the opportunity to practice skills in a safe environment. And lastly, technology must be incorporated into the school day.
Teacher should be the one to guide, handle and be the second parent of every student. So, I myself should guide them by handling them right and what is good for them. I would be their second parent whom they can trust and comfortable to be with. Students in the 21st century have a little span attention that’s why I should give extra efforts. My efforts should be just for the students. It requires commitments to the students, creation of a caring classroom, effective communication skills, flexibility and ongoing reflection and collaboration with colleagues. The focus of my educational philosophy is to create and open and inviting community which embraces diversity.
Children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. I believe that all children are unique and have something special that they can bring to their own education. I will assist my students to express themselves and accept themselves for who they are, as well embrace the differences of others. Every classroom has its own unique community, my role as the teacher will be to assist each child in developing their own potential and learning styles. I will present a curriculum that will incorporate each different learning style, as well as make the content relevant to the students' lives.
As a teacher, my goal should be to assist every individual student to their individual level of needs with many different strategies of teaching. Every teacher has their own special set of strategies that they use to instruct their students, I myself would give them the chance to discover what the things that they are good at are. Some teachers have been using these strategies for many years and have been very successful. I will incorporate hands-on learning, cooperative learning, projects, themes, and individual work that engage and activate students learning. They develop ideas of what works best for them to be successful in the classroom and to educate their students to the best of their ability. Although I may develop some teaching strategies and use them for many years, I need to be willing to learn new effective ways to teach my students as new generations begin to arise.
