Are we active or passive?

The two killings of Rifat Sharif and Taslima Renu bewilder me. As a people, we are active or passive? We played entirely different roles during the two savage murders. When we saw some young guys beating up Rifat Sharif who was the unfortunate husband of Minni, we were so passive that we looked on it as if we were watching a movie.

But our role in the time of Renu murder was completely different. We proved that as a people we can be very much active, when we want to be.
