Democracy : world's chaos and The reset. Is it last option??

0 37

The word democracy is derived from Greek work and it's combination of two word.

Demos= people and kratein = To rule or to govern

So democracy means government of people and government of majority.

There is also another recognised definition of democracy: Government of people ,by people and for people (Lincoln)

Democracy is also a distinguished form of government from others such as aristocracy, monarchy and dictatorship.

  • Well democracy claims to be system of informed deliberation, it means broad discussion will be made possible to produce decisions that express common interest.

  • Democracy emphasises on equality, autonomy and dignity of mass. It claims on self determination (liberty),equity, fairness, mutualism, reciprocity and solidarity.

Then why the chaos and riots in world??

Is this lack of awareness in people or there is need of improvement in this system...

For various countries it's chaotic moment that have long underpinned a GLOBAL ORDER, a time of instability for stabilization/balance of power that has resigned for decades.

Across the world people are inquiring and questioning over truths and figures they had long held to be self-evident, well they are dismissing some of them considering fake news. they are replacing traditions they had long seen as immutable with this haphazard reinvention.

In France ,if we discuss, people who feel left behind by globalizing world have spent last few years in rioting and marching in country to protest a government they call elitist and out of touch. And the government whose initial dismissiveness seemed to be suspicions, was finally forced to change the tack.

While Britain is still shuddering from referendum that its government called to muzzle navsavers , only to see those naysayers win the day. Hence as politicians go through awkward contortions to on that vote, the government is verge of collapse.

And in the United States, previous president who some accuse of upending ideals that the nation holds dear is aggressively abandoning protocol and customs that have prevailed through a dozen of his predecessors. His core followers are thrilled; many others are getting vertigo.

These all are not playing in just above states but also across the world and almost in every country.

However It’s a similar narrative in each place: People outside the centers of power are rejecting political elites they feel take them for granted, and backing new movements that eschew the rules and that often play to their basest thoughts.

To be clear and honest, this isn’t a weakening of democracy. In a way, it’s the opposite.

Is CONSENSUS OUTDATED?

The flavor of democracy most familiar to the West is an indirect one, with voters’ desires helping to shape the institutions that do the governing — and that often act as mannered/ cultured buffers that calm stormy political waters.

The emerging models, though, summon a more fundamental, sometimes brasher form of democracy and, in which votes and other political expressions have a more direct impact and influence, or in which they empower( giving allowance) an individual who can bypass those institutions.

End words!!

Democracy, as the slogan prevails, is relatively good form of government as compared to others way of ruling.

To control all those riots and protest, people should be made more and more aware. They should be instructed that let the authorities of nation decide what would be the better way of improvement in the present situations.

So BOTH sides, Governments and people, should play their roles.
