FOOD INSECURITY.
Food insecurity is the opposite of food security. This occurs when food is not available to all the masses and the available foods are not nutritional.
There are factors that can cause food insecurity
Poverty
Inaccessible roads
Economic meltdown
Over population
Social status
Climate
Soil type
Form of farming
Natural disasters such as earthquake.
This factors that brings about food insecurity are broadly classified into three aspects. They are
Chronic insecurity : This kind of food insecurity is always short and temporary. It can be addressed or solved by making adequate food intervention.
Transitory food insecurity: this are permanent and could last for decades. This could be caused by situation like earthquake.
This kind of food insecurity are less likely to be solved.
Seasonal or cyclic insecurity.
This can be brought about by some agricultural problems such as poor yield or by season.
During rainy seasons there are more availability of food than dry seasons.
This type could be corrected by making effective planning and expanding of Agricultural lands.
