Have you ever been involved in a project or working on a goal and you are so stoked about it you can't seem to eat nor settled down until you complete it? That's enthusiasm. It is a feeling of lively interest and excitement in an activity or pursuit. Most times, those projects are always a success!
However, the opposite will be the case when you embark on a project and you don't have an interest in it. You drag your feet and maybe finish up just for the sake of it. It will turn out an average result if not a failed one.
To achieve success, you need to complement your desire with enthusiasm. Having a positive attitude is being enthusiastic. Acts of enthusiasm could include being thankful, surrounding yourself with happy people and appreciating them, counting your blessings, etc.
In other words, focus on the good in your life and draw energy from it to accomplish your goal. Even in the midst of the storm or issues that may arise to derail you from your goal, stay positive. Be enthusiastic. To achieve success or anything worthwhile, as Ralph Waldo Emerson said, you should be enthusiastic.
