Badshahi Mosque history

The mosque was worked under the support of the 6th Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb Alamgir. It was finished in 1673 under the management of Aurangzeb's encourage sibling Muzaffar Hussain (otherwise called Fidaie Khan Koka) who was named legislative leader of Lahore in May 1671 and held this post until 1675. He was additionally Master of Ordnance to the sovereign.

The development of the mosque took around two years, from May 1671 to April 1673. The mosque was worked inverse the Lahore Fort, delineating its height in the Mughal Empire. Related to the structure of the mosque, another entryway was worked at the post, named Alamgiri Gate after the Emperor.

From 1852 onwards, piecemeal fixes were completed under the management of the Badshahi Mosque Authority. Broad fixes were done from 1939 to 1960 at an expense of about 4.8 million rupees, which carried the mosque to its unique shape and condition. The diagram for the fixes was set up by the late designer Nawab Zen Yar Jang Bahadur.

In 2000, the fix work of marble decorate in the fundamental vault was fixed under the oversight of Saleem Anjum Qureshi. On the event of the second Islamic Summit held at Lahore on February 22, 1974, 39 heads of Muslim states offered their Friday petitions in the Badshahi Masjid, driven by Maulana Abdul Qadir Azad, the 'Khatib' of the mosque.

As of late a little gallery has likewise been added to the mosque complex, which contains relics of Muhammad, his cousin, and his girl, Hazrat Fatima Zahra.
