5G:- The Fifth Generation Telecom Service
Hello friends, as we know that many countries use 5G data networks. It is a very high internet speed. In this era smartphones with high data, networks becomes a part of our life.
As we also heard for a long time that 5G will launch soon in India. Now our wait is over for that and recently, the department of telecommunications announced that from this year 2022 India's metros will have 5G service.
For their 5G services, they selected some cities which will get benefit from the 5G service this year are Mumbai, Gurugram, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Pune, Gandhinagar, Jamnagar, Ahmedabad.
Q. The question that comes to our mind is why only these cities will get a 5G network firstly?
I will tell you as we know that in the initial days the cost of 5G services will be higher side. And these cities are well developed so they can afford its cost easily. It would be wise like testing mode and these cities are also well developed in telecom services. So it is very easier to convince people for an update from 4G services.
So, in the initial days, these cities are chosen for 5G services, after that this service will introduce within the whole country. Another thing is that in these all cities provide all kinds of locations, open spaces, walled complexes and these are favourable for the testing. These are also developed in optical fibre and are suitable for 5G bands.
These days we use 4G network which causes which cause some network problems related to speed sometimes. 4G means Fourth generation mobile network and it can provide maximum data in some cases about 1 Gigabit per second. While the maximum speed of 5G will be 20 Gigabit per second.
It works within 3 Bands Spectrum:-
Low Bands spectrum:-
In the low band spectrum, the speed of the network is low but the coverage is high. It provides 100Mbps data speed.
Mid Band spectrum:-
In this mid-band spectrum,m the data speed is higher than the low band spectrum but the coverage is lower than the low band spectrum.
High Band Spectrum:-
In the high band spectrum, it provides the highest speed network but the coverage will be reduced or extremely limited. Its internet speed will be 20 Gigabit per second.
5G technology is a new global wireless standard after 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G mobile networks. The difference between these three bands spectrum is the 'speed'.
Journey To Fifth Generation:-
1G launched and telecom communication service was introduced first time in the world in the 1980s. And at that time people use analogue radio signals which supported only voice calls.
After that, we introduce 2G which was 2nd generation mobile network that support both voice and data transmission. It works on digital radio signals. Then, in the 2000s 3G was launched and we started first-time use of video calls, voice calls and conferencing. After that 4G was launched with its peak speed of 100Mbps to 1Gbps in 2009. It also helps in enabling 3D and virtual reality.
With the help of 5G, we will use artificial intelligence well and it also helps to reduce latency (means when we click on any site then the time taken to open the site). It will minimise the load of spikes also.
Challenge for 5G Rollout in India:-
In some cities the optical connectivity becomes old and it is not upgraded in the whole country. So, firstly we have the challenge to upgrade this fibre connectivity across the whole country, which at present connects only 30% of India's telecom towers. And we ban certain foreign telecom OEMs (original equipment manufacture). So, we have the challenge to develop our equipment.
I hope this post will helpful for you.
