There are three things that, unlike spiritual gift, are enduring and continually abiding: faith, hope and love. Among the enduring virtues, love is the greatest because it will only increase when we see the Lord rather than decrease. When we get to heaven, by then faith and hope would have fulfilled their purpose. We won't need faith when we see God face to face and we won't need hope once Jesus comes. But we will always love the Lord and each other, and grow in that love through eternity.
Love is an attribute of God himself. God is live and will always be love. When men either love God or their fellow men, they are doing what God does. The clear point paul is making in that we should value and give attention to the cultivation and practice of love mire than to other spiritual gifts. The gifts, as importantas they are, are not temporary. But love will endure foerever always remaining relevant.
Today, how will you grow in your love for others? First, you must develop a loving and vibrant relationship with God. Second, you must love your neighbours, your spouse, family members, co-wokers and the world around you.
