All the actions of life must either be Good or evil. There is, and there can be, no neutrality in them. Are you on the right road? Do you have a good map to avoid wrong turns? If you stay on the highway of the upright, you will save your life from much trouble. But thete are many large and enticing turns to get you lost. The text is "depart from evil," go from it, give it your back, walk off and leave it behind, shun it as an adder, avoid it as a scorpion, flee from it as a serpent.
To depart from evil is an abomination to the fools but it is beloved by the wise. It is to choose the right way, the narrow way. It is to walk in the fear of God. The world does not want this way, for to depart from evil involves avoiding the illicit pleasure of the world. It involves avoiding self-seeking. Dear reader, Do not follow the crowd or else you lose your identity. Walk in total obedience and see the result.
