There is a notion among believers that being wealthy is not Christian- like because Christ said it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven. What Christ was pointing out is that those who put their trust in their riches(mammon) than put their trust in HIM will not be able yo enter the kingdom of God.
We cannot love two masters equally, especially when they both have conflicting desires. The love of money elevates the desire of the flesh above the desire of the spirit. When you put your trust in money to fulfil your desire, you begin to draw from the faith because mammon will never align with the lawof the spirit. One doesn't need to pursue money before it can be said the love of money is present. If one begins to withhold from giving, it only shows we do not trust GOD to fulfil His word when He says He will bless the giver. Mammon says you don't need God to have money, God is saying, trust Me and money would be the least of the things I'll entrust to you.
