A Newly Discovered Ransomware Targeting Both Windows and Linux systems

A newly discovered type of ransomware goes to target both Windows and Linux systems This ransomware has been in effect since December last year, known has tycoon it named was derived from reference code.   

This same ransomware also uses an unusual based adaptive, which helps keep the affected networks secret. The attackers behind this ransomware request payment in bitcoin and the cost depends on how fast the victim contacts them by e-mail. It is an uncommon malware type since it coded in java and assembled to conceal malicious intentions in a Java image file.

Tycoon's prime objectives are educational and software organizations in the UK and the United States. The attack is highly selective and is the work of cybercriminal, say  KPMG security experts & analysts.

Researchers believe the Tycoon might be another kind of ransomware, Crysis. The fact that the campaign is still currently ongoing clearly indicates that its victims are successfully extortion payments.

 Tycoon can be prevented, but companies should take action to secure their network and System.  And they must ensure that accounts that used weak passwords to access to these port do not use default info.
