February 2, 2023 4:04 PM Somewhere in southern Illinois USA Well since it was Groundhog Day today where I live I decided to set the trail cam up down at the groundhog den, hoping maybe it'd stick its head out if I got lucky (7 years ago I got lucky and did see one on Groundhog Day) but other than two shots of P.T. (one with him sniffing the hole that goes to the den) and three of Scar checking the area out, I didn't have any luck.

The photo isn't quite in focus, but I had a fairly large group of Cardinals feeding out front yesterday, there were enough males for an American Football team (11) and in fact there IS a team called the Cardinals.

1:39 AM, currently -9 °C with a high today expected of -4 °C (that's 17 and 25 for us that use the Fairlyhigh scale). Been a few days since I've 'said' anything here, just not a whole lot to talk about, and with as few people as I am 'seeing' in my feed, not a whole lot to speak to either. To be expected though - once people realized they were not getting BCH (from Noise itself) anymore they decided not to spend any time here. Me? It isn't so much the money - it is simply dead here. Hopefully some of those MIA will eventually return.

Had an appointment in the cardiology department of my local hospital yesterday, and it was the final appointment I'll have with Monica Scott NP (Nurse Practitioner) who is transferring to a hospital closer to her home to avoid the 2½ hour time spent commuting each day because she has a baby at home now, 5 months old and adorable. And Monica has been great, I've really enjoyed 'working' with her, but one (or maybe two) things I will really be missing now in my appointments - boobs. I've never said anything untoward nor acted in any way disrespectful to her, but she is basically the only woman that has been shoving her boobs in my face (while standing over me and bending over to take blood pressure/check my breathing etc) for many and many a long long time. lol And I've done my best not to stare, but 'em are some nice ones and it isn't like I was trying to sneak a peek - in fact many a time I averted my eyes so as not to offend - but DAMMIT I'm gonna miss those. I might be a wee bit jealous of her baby. lol

Shooting through a few layers of glass that need a good cleaning so the colors don't 'pop' like they should, but right now it's too cold to go clean windows outside. Cardinals are pretty busy this morning even though it is snowing.

Several years ago I had one of the most ironic experiences imaginable when I watched a psychic ranting online about how she had gotten ripped off by a site she was working for. Of course, being my usual charming self, I told her that was probably the funniest thing I had ever read, and of course she said she didn't see anything funny about it - and, of course, that was precisely what I was waiting for. And I said "Well, you're a psychic, correct." And she said "Yes I am but what has that to do with it?" I said "And you were working for a 'psychic hotline' website, correct?" And she said "Yes, that is what this is about." And I said "If you are psychic, and can see the future of other people over the Internet, why couldn't you see the site owner was going to rip you off?" And I guess she didn't like that because a few seconds later I was blocked. Which sucked, because I was going to ask her if maybe the site decided not to pay her because she wasn't very good at it. lol

3 A.M. drinking coughee smoking cigarettes and other things and doing laundry and browning a pound of ground beef and a pound of ground turkey for chili I am going to be making later today...took out the trash a bit ago and rolled the can out to the side of the road for pickup in a few more hours - cool (7 °C) and wet out there, supposed to warm up to 10 °C or so later. 3:50 A.M. Monday morning 16 January 2023 Somewhere in the USA... I realized yesterday I have 5 working stereo receivers (although one is technically an audio/video receiver): 1. Kenwood VR-209 - 100 watts/ch x 5 = 500 watts 2. Onkyo TX-8511 - 100 watts/ch x 2 = 200 watts 3. Marantz PM630 - 65 watts/ch x 2 = 130 watts 4. Onkyo TX-2500 MKII - 27 watts/ch x 2 = 54 watts 5. Marantz Model 2015 - 15 watts/ch x 2 = 30 watts Oddly enough, it is the oldest - and least powerful - of them that puts out the highest-quality sound. The Model 2015 was made between 1973 and 1975 and is simply a work-horse of the highest caliber even if it doesn't feature high-power output.

2:50 P.M. Thursday afternoon 12 January 2023 Somewhere in the USA... Yesterday it was announced guitarist Jeff Beck had died the previous day (10 Jan) from bacterial meningitis. The 78 year old Beck was one of the most influential early rock guitarists, standing along the sides of Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page in the English rock scene. So I'm spinning through my Jeff Beck collection today in memory...these are the first four albums from the Jeff Beck Group, and I have two more solo albums I will be playing as well.

Early Sunday morning (5:30 AM here) audio bliss with Led Zeppelin's third studio outing. Not as heavy as the first two albums, Led Zeppelin III has many acoustic moments, and a memorable squeaky kick-drum pedal in the bluesy 'Since I've Been Loving You'. A person could sit for hours and hours examining all the small photos on the wheel - it fits inside the front cover of the album and can be rotated to show different parts.

Well I just heard it is allegedly the first full moon of the year but I didn't check to be sure so it could be fake news but I took a photo of it anyway and here it is. And it does appear to be about as full as it can be without spilling out of the sky so maybe it weren't fake news. Peaceful afternoon, mellow buzz, cloudy and a bit on the chilly side at 4 °C/39 °F which is not COLD cold but there's a breeze so it doesn't take a minute or so to say "Okay need a jacket". So I'll just keep inside and enjoy the completion of my 63rd trip around the sun...that's a lot of miles. lol
