#vinylrecords #vinyl #records #vinyljunkie #TempleOfTheDog Temple Of The Dog - Temple Of The Dog (1991) Basically a mash-up of members from Pearl Jam and Soundgarden in a tribute to Andrew Wood, lead singer of the band Mother Love Bone who had died a year previously (although technically Pearl Jam came into existence after this album was recorded). Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament (now in Pearl Jam) were in Mother Love Bone with Andrew Wood, and Chris Cornell (vocalist for Soundgarden) was Wood's roommate. The album also features Mike McCready (who would be in Pearl Jam) on lead guitar and Eddie Vedder (vocalist for Pearl Jam) on background vocals, as well as drummer Matt Cameron who was in Soundgarden at the time and later would join Pearl Jam as well. Many people will be familiar with the single 'Hunger Strike' from this album. It was in heavy rotation on MTV at the time. Myself, the 11 minute 'Reach Down' (which showcases the talent of McCready) is my favorite track on this album.
