@Scarred4Lyfe

It took almost 63 years to realize it, but I finally figured out why I am so easily irritated by people. And something that was said to me by one of my brothers made me realize it. He used his favorite 'fall back' position when he found out he was wrong about something (and I had been right): "You always act like you're smarter than everyone else." And for once, I sat and considered it - and came to the conclusion that I am not ACTING smarter than everyone else - but I have…

@Scarred4Lyfe

I really need to go to the local Walmart for groceries/etc but it is dark and foggy and 8 degrees outside and I can handle dark and I can handle cold and I can handle foggy but all three at once kind of intimidates me. At least no rain or snow or ice is falling from the skies above.

6:10 A.M. Wednesday 02 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois, central USA Possum munching on sunflower seeds in the front yard earlier this morning. The seeds seem to be a hit with everyone - possums, deer, raccoons, squirrels, birds - even one of my cats nibbles at them occasionally.

@Scarred4Lyfe

4:35 P.M. Wednesday 02 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois, central USA Groundhog and grey squirrel down on the southern end of the property foraging for fall food (I have a couple of nice oaks down there that drop a slew of acorns in the fall).

@Scarred4Lyfe

6:55 A.M. Thursday 03 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois, central USA The absolutely worst thing about starting the day at 2 A.M. is the long await for the sun to arise. Almost 7 AM and the sun still won't breach the horizon for another 30 minutes. I will be so glad to set the clocks back one hour in a few more days so I won't have to wait quite as long for the sun to catch up with me.

@Scarred4Lyfe

1:20 P.M. Thursday 03 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois, central USA A little bit of Metallica to soothe away the afternoon as I wait for my connection to drop by with a package for me. Allegedly the same type (Gelato 33) as he had last time - which I REALLY liked.

@Scarred4Lyfe

Dusted this Sansui turntable off and hooked it up this afternoon to make sure it still works okay, haven't used it in over a year since I shelled out $600 + buying a brand new Pro-ject T1 turntable and Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge. Still works fine, I'll wrap it back up and let her sit in storage in case I ever need it.

@Scarred4Lyfe

Another 28 grams of hopes and dreams delivered yesterday. Nice having fresh produce delivered to your door.

@Scarred4Lyfe

I probably still have 7 grams out of the last batch I bought, but my grower said he had a few ounces of the Gelato 33 strain left if I was interested, and I do have to say this is an excellent grow - nice sticky sweet-tasting buds (flowers) with a full-bodied effect good for relaxing with - so I had him bring me an ounce yesterday. It's been legal for recreational use here since January 2020, but if I smoke too much I don't get a whole lot of recreation in.

@Scarred4Lyfe

3:58 A.M. Saturday 05 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois, central USA Currently 16 °C/60 °F and raining this morning. Lots of LOUD booming thunder to go with it. So this week my online activity took a big hit when I decided I no longer have time for a certain website (myLot.com) I've been part of for over 16 years, and then we have the Twitter mess going on (which makes it senseless to try to do anything new with an account there), and facebook (in their infinite…

@Scarred4Lyfe

Talk about a ghost town - even exploring the 'everything' option doesn't show very many recent posts here. Guess I'll just hide in the shadows and see where things go from here...

@Scarred4Lyfe

It is cold and dark and wet outside so of course the cats DO NOT want out UNLESS the door is closed and as soon as it is opened they want to know why I am trying to force them into going out into the cold dark wetness... #Caturday #CaturdayMorning

8:55 A.M. Saturday 05 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois, central USA PRAISE THE GOOD LORD ABOVE we go back to Natural Time tonight and tomorrow all this silliness of MAN thinking THEY can control Time As We Experience It will be done for another 6 months and we can BASK and RELAX in the TIME that NATURE intended TIME to EXIST. #SuchWinning #PreyzaLawd

@Scarred4Lyfe

I just made the most AMAZING discovery, and I'm surprised no one else has ever mentioned it before. The FedEx company is actually run by mariafletcher3z8@valuableequipment.com I know because I just got an email from her asking me to verify information on a delivery scheduled for today. All I have to do is click the link on the email and it will take me to where I can schedule my delivery at my most convenient time. I wonder why Maria calls the company FedEx though,…

@Scarred4Lyfe

Love getting fresh new vinyl. The mailman just dropped off a virgin copy of 'Crazy Times' from Sammy Hagar & The Circle (release date was October 28th) and I'm about halfway through the second side now. My initial impression was "Eh, okay, not as good as the first album" but now there are a few spots where this has kinda grabbed at me a bit. Side One - 1 Intro: The Beginning of the End 2 Slow Drain 3 Feed Your Head 4 Pump It Up 5 Be Still Side Two - 6 You Get What You Pay…

@Scarred4Lyfe

Clocks went back one hour, 4 of them in the house had to be manually reset, the one in the truck - it'll just be wrong for the next 6 months, I have a hard enough time with it just adjusting bass and treble. lol

@Scarred4Lyfe

I forgot to set my clocks back one hour before I went to bed last night, so I got up an hour earlier than I thought it was when I looked at the clock - which I didn't notice until my computer went from 1:59 A.M. to 1:00 A.M. But now I have manually reset the 4 clocks in the house that do not set themselves, and of course the phones set themselves back so I don't have to mess with them, and the truck - well, the truck clock will just be off one hour for the next 6 months…

@Scarred4Lyfe

3:45 A.M. Sunday 06 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois, central USA A pair of early-morning moon-shots, one taken from in front of the house where I can't get a clean line of sight, the other taken after I walked about a block down the road to where I could get a clear view.

@Scarred4Lyfe

Pair of early morning (3:45 AM) moonshots, one from in front shooting through the trees, one taken after I walked down the road a piece to get a clear line of sight.

@Scarred4Lyfe

3 AM and I've already been awake 90 minutes. All three cats have had breakfast, and I have had coughee (although my breakfast is fixing as I type this) and my girl Emoci decided she needed a few moments of cuddle time.

@Scarred4Lyfe

Twitter is a very strange place. I keep getting naked women thrown at me, shaved spread crotch shots and all, when I use the 'explore' option - and then get this crap for inferring Elon Musk is a dumbass. Which yes, I posted anyway.

@Scarred4Lyfe

7:25 A.M. Monday 07 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois, central USA Olney Illinois to be exact, and here is our 'claim to fame', one member of the large colony of Albino Tree Rats that my fair city uses as the local mascot. (This is an albino Eastern Grey Squirrel photographed in my front yard, there are over 100 of them roaming in the town)

@Scarred4Lyfe

Albino Eastern Grey Squirrel feeding out front of the house this morning.

@Scarred4Lyfe

Emoci 😹 came in and told me if I wanted to get one last shot of the GrounDog this year that it was at the end of the yard eating acorns under one of the big Oak trees.

@Scarred4Lyfe

4:30 A.M. Tuesday 08 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois, central USA Lunar eclipse Unfortunately as the eclipse was beginning, I had heavy cloud cover move in so I was not able to get the detailed photos I was wanting, but this one came out good enough to share.

@Scarred4Lyfe

Lunar eclipse photo taken 08 November 2022 @ 4:20 A.M.

@Scarred4Lyfe

Ain't that just par for the course? Voted by mail, then got a call this afternoon that I forgot to sign the certification envelope so I had to go to the County Clerk's office to sign it so my vote would count - but hey, I voted. lol

@Scarred4Lyfe

4:30 A.M. Wednesday 09 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois, central USA Clear skies this morning allowed me to capture this shot of the moon just past full. Of course, yesterday clear skies would have been appreciated a bit for the eclipse, but Nature is gonna do what Nature wants to do when Nature wants to do it, and Nature doesn't care if I like it or not. lol

@Scarred4Lyfe

Only one day past full, you can barely tell from the craters showing at the bottom - I've only caught a 'perfect' full moon a few times.

@Scarred4Lyfe

8:20 A.M. 09 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA Ol' Whitey usually shows up around the same time each morning like it has a feeding schedule it must maintain.

@Scarred4Lyfe

2:41 P.M. 09 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA *finishes assembling meatloaf* *places meatloaf in oven* Well crap - that was not what I had planned for supper but I forgot why I went into the kitchen so I made meatloaf. And I thought while doing that I might remember why I was there, but alas...but meatloaf!

@Scarred4Lyfe

Just finished 'The Institute' which means I went through these three books in 12 days. Currently waiting on a bit of time to pass for the library to open and go grab another handful to read. My nightly ritual is go to bed, crack open a book, and read until I can't keep my eyes open any longer - and then it will still take 30 minutes to an hour before my brain shuts down enough to get some sleep in.

@Scarred4Lyfe

*taps microphone* Is this thing on? (on) (on) (on) (on) (on) (on) (on) (on) Wow, lots of natural reverb in here with the place so empty. lol This is my regular morning feeder, I had two white ones that showed up last year but I don't know where the other wandered off to, perhaps it died, A few people have asked how I get the ears of corn to stay on the tree, what I have done is driven a pair of nails into branches of the tree, then drill a small hole in bottom of the corn…

@Scarred4Lyfe

4:00 P.M. Thursday 10 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA Emoci in one of her favorite hunting spots, she's always catching something there, mice or chipmunks or frogs or crickets - if it moves, she goes after it. *patiently waits for 'edit' feature to be added*

@Scarred4Lyfe

3:25 A.M. Friday 11 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA Breakfast time out at the Squirrel Tree - of course, it is entirely too early for the squirrels to be out and about (they don't arrive until after sun up) but several raccoons (5) and an opossum were enjoying the peace and quiet of an early morning feed. There was also a solitary raccoon up the tree enjoying an ear of corn all by himself.

@Scarred4Lyfe

Breakfast feasting (breakfeast?) out at the Squirrel Tree this morning, 5 raccoons and an opossum going after corn and sunflower seeds.

9:00 A.M. Friday 11 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA Emoci catnaps on top of the bags of bird feed. Meanwhile, Whitey figures this is a good time to enjoy some morning snacking. And me? Well, I suppose I'm gonna go 'n smoke me a lil' smoke...

@Scarred4Lyfe

1:55 P.M. Friday 11 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA Sometimes a person might be one toke over the line, sweet Jesus, and then little things like this get stuck in their head and they start thinking about life and synchronicity and is it more than simply an album by The Police?

@Scarred4Lyfe

5:55 A.M. Saturday 12 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA Laying in bed overnight, kept slipping further and further under the blankets because I couldn't figure out why it was so cold, then I woke up when Scar wanted out and saw THIS white crap... Nope. Not ready for snow yet. But it's here anyway. :-(

@Scarred4Lyfe

Well, I was NOT ready to wake up and see God's Dandruff falling from the sky, but sure as anything that is what I saw as I went to let Scar out this morning.

@Scarred4Lyfe

10:01 A.M. Saturday 12 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA Neither 'moci nor Scar are very happy with the STUPID WHITE STUFF all over their domain. With the temp currently -1 °C it'll be here for most of the day, although by tomorrow it should be gone - for now, anyway.

@Scarred4Lyfe

1:55 A.M. Sunday 13 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA Mama deer and three young'uns out front earlier, two of the fawns wouldn't cooperate and kept out of camera range (I was inside shooting through two doors and couldn't get a good angle on them).

@Scarred4Lyfe

Mama deer and three fawns outside early this morning but two of the fawns stayed out of camera range.

@Scarred4Lyfe

3:05 P.M. Sunday 13 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA It can take a few minutes to decide what I want to smoke from and what I want to smoke in it. Years ago I had one small pipe and I had to always keep it hidden because weed was illegal. Now since it is legal where I live, I can keep everything out in the open. And this looks like the choice to enjoy on a Sunday afternoon with a little Pink Floyd 'The Wall' on the video screen.

@Scarred4Lyfe

7:50 A.M. Monday 14 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA I hate sub-freezing temperatures, my furnace has to work overtime trying to keep it warm in the house. And natural gas (which I use for heating) is fairly costly. A few times this morning I've had to lower the thermostat because the furnace just keeps running - and running - and running - trying to keep the cold at bay.

@Scarred4Lyfe

Hard to believe I still have a handful of these vintage 8-track tapes that still work, and have a working pair of the tape players as well. I'm sure some collector somewhere would pay for them, but hell, I'd likely give them away if someone came asking about them.

@Scarred4Lyfe

Now that is just plain stupid, but I shouldn't expect anything else. Damn spammers are still joining here (Noise.cash) thinking they can make some money for their garbage. I post about it being - 4 outside, his response is 'Nice'. Joined three days ago. WHY??? Dumbasses. lol

@Scarred4Lyfe

2:05 A.M. Wednesday 16 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA Currently 2 degrees C outside with frozen precipitation falling. Not an auspicious start to the day, and today's high is only going to reach 3-4 degrees so although the sleet will stop, it is going to remain a bit chilly. But that's November in Illinois.

@Scarred4Lyfe

4:30 A.M. Wednesday 16 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA 52 years ago in the USA you could buy a newly built four bedroom, bath-and-a-half house with large kitchen and family room for under $20,000 I was digging through old paperwork and found the 30-year mortgage for the house, it was $19,500 I also found the title/abstract for the property plus the blueprints for the house construction.

@Scarred4Lyfe

WHY ARE PEOPLE PASSING OUT THEIR INVITE LINKS EN MASSE TO OTHERS? The purpose of an 'invite only' was to stop spammers. Blithely throwing your invite link out to everyone regardless of if you know them or not only invites spammers to join. And while spammers cannot spam my discussions unless I 'follow' them, THEY CAN STILL SPAM ME VIA MY REPLIES TO OTHER PEOPLE. For instance, a great example is any discussion written by @Simon I can post a comment to anyone that responds to…

3:00 P.M. Wednesday 16 November 2022 Somewhere in southern Illinois USA Photo #1 - Male Northern Cardinal at the bird feeder in front with a female finch on the right. Photo #2 - Groundhog/Woodchuck gathering acorns at the south end of the yard. I keep thinking I've seen the groundhog for the last time (for this year) but I guess he's not quite ready to hibernate yet.

@Scarred4Lyfe

2:55 A.M. Thursday November 17 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA 5 raccoons that didn't seem terribly bothered by a skunk in their midst this morning. Lots of pushing and shoving going on, but the skunk pretty much ignored everything and simply kept eating. Photo is a bit out of focus but then so am I when I first wake up, I hadn't had coughee yet and Scar was wanting to know why I wasn't opening the door and I was too busy watching them to realize the focus was a…

@Scarred4Lyfe

8:00 A.M. Friday November 18 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA Sunny and COLD this morning with the temp currently -3 and the high temp for today alleged to be 0. I had planned on assembling the new lawn sweeper that was delivered yesterday and cleaning up the leaves in the yard today, but it's too cold for that.

@Scarred4Lyfe

11:30 A.M. Friday November 18 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA And suddenly this morning I was bothered by the fact that I had 2 bongs, 2 water pipes, 4 packs of rolling papers, yet I did not have a single plain old weed pipe in the house, so I made a 70 mile/112.6 kilometer drive to rectify the situation. And I am getting ready to give it a test toke.

@Scarred4Lyfe

2:15 A.M. Saturday November 19 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA Now, I mainly stay away from politics here, but I am just a bit flummoxed at the moment. I'm trying to decide why ANYONE from either main political party in the USA would support either Trump or Biden in the 2024 presidential election cycle. The average lifespan of an American male is slightly over 77 years. Biden is already 79 and Trump will be 78 in 2024, so why attempt to get someone elected that…

@Scarred4Lyfe

8:15 A.M. Saturday November 19 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA Fixing to pop lunch into the oven for 50 minutes or so (or until my belly decides it smells like it's done). Sliced carrots, french cut green beans, and skinless chicken breasts cooked in about an inch of chicken broth. Yes, I eat lunch between 9-10 A.M. most mornings, which almost everyone would consider early - but I normally start my day at 2 A.M. or thereabout.

@Scarred4Lyfe

4:30 A.M. Sunday November 20 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA I just came up with my latest million-dollar invention - an arm tanner for truckers so both arms can be the same shade. Millions of truckers walk around with unevenly tanned arms because one arm is constantly exposed to sunlight coming through the driver's window while the other arm receives little sunlight, leaving one arm golden-brown and the other arm a pasty dead-fish white. My newly patented…

@Scarred4Lyfe

5:50 A.M. Sunday November 20 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA Did you know that cheese is actually one of the worst things to use for bait in a mouse trap? While it appears impossible to track down how the myth began, it is indeed nothing but a myth. Point of fact, cheese emits such a relatively strong odor that most mice will AVOID eating it unless they are very hungry and can't find other available food. Seems they prefer grains and fruit more than dairy. My…

4:55 A.M. Tuesday November 22 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA Finally decide I'm gonna download all my photos at facebook and close 3 of 4 accounts I have made over the years. The first two went fine - the third one, facebook decides to play 'cute' and locked me out of it until I can prove I am me - which I did the email thing and such but now I have to wait for them to verify the photo ID I sent them - which they say they will "get back to you usually within 24…

10:00 A.M. Tuesday November 22 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA This post will probably not mean a single thing to people that do not listen to vinyl records on good home stereo equipment, so many of you may simply chose this point to stop reading. 1:00 P.M. Tuesday November 22 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA First photo is the new lawn sweeper after assembly and testing, works very well. The next three photos are of how I received it in the shipping box this morning - WITH NO DIRECTIONS OR INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR ASSEMBLY. Now, I did find one on the INnernet, and I downloaded it and assembled it, but for $270.00 you'd think they'd give you instructions with it - they didn't even tell me where to look, I had…

@Scarred4Lyfe

That was an ordeal. Ordered a new lawn sweeper through Amazon, so of course I received an un-assembled unit, which I was expecting. So I open the box and get out everything - and there are no assembly instructions nor owner's manual. And I sat there and stared at it for a bit, and not only had nary a clue where to start, but did not know what went where in what order, and if everything was even there - how do you know if you have all the parts without a parts list? But…

5:10 A.M. Wednesday November 23 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA I can remember how life was before the Internet - before every person with a computer had access to almost anything I do. I remember PRIVACY, and I miss it. 3:40 A.M. Thursday November 24 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA Happy Thanksgiving (in the USA) Many of us have traditions attached to holidays, and one of mine attached to Thanksgiving is at least one spin through the Arlo Guthrie masterpiece 'Alice's Restaurant'. And so goes the 18+ minute opus to…

8:40 A.M. Thursday November 24 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA There's that groundhog feeding near the southern boundary of the property again this morning. 11:40 A.M. Thursday November 24 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA Emoci is simply adorable - there's really no other word for it. Ol' Scar can't seem to recognize the fact that if he didn't want P.T. around the house he should have said something before he let P.T. start coming inside the house, not decide a year later that he doesn't want P.T. to come in the house anymore. Freakin' bratcat.
