My nephew Emmett pretending he is a rock 'n' roll singer (with the help of the boom to a cymbal stand from his Dad's drum kit). My brother Steve sent me the photo this morning and my ol' ice-cold heart melted just a hair...just a hair...
@Scarred4Lyfe in September 2022
I do not know why the neighbor woman across the street is such a rude unfriendly cunt but she'd better get used to the fact that my house and land are completely paid for with no mortgage so I am going to be here until I die. Plus it is my neighborhood she is in the process of buying a house in - I didn't move into hers. Fuckin' bitch won't even acknowledge a 'Good morning' or anything if I am out working in the yard as she walks by. Hope her kids don't grow up with that…
Went to a private party yesterday and spent the final two hours watching Muddy Creek & Co play a few tunes. Basically a shakedown of the sound system I sold Aaron Blanchard (which hadn't been used since October 2019) in preparation for a 5-band show coming up in mid October of this year. Nothing shorted out or blew up so it should be good to go.
As if guns were not enough of a problem, mass killing in Canada leaves 10 dead, 15 wounded. Mass stabbing though - no one was shot. Not a single bullet fired. 10 dead, 15 wounded in MASS STABBING across multiple locations. This is a fucked up world in which we live. Addendum to original post: I don't own any guns but I own several knives. The slab of wood is 0.95 meter long for size reference. Hopefully people won't start calling for a ban on knives.
My step-son Joe (middle) and his wife Starla after the show Saturday (Sept 3rd) I was running sound at. Joe lives about 120 miles/193 kilometers away so we don't see each other very often these days. Second photo is me relaxing by the sound board talking to Aaron Blanchard (who hosted the event).
You take ramen noodles 'n do it in chicken broth steada H2O 'n add chicken breast meat 'n jalapenos 'n purt near in a while you got some foodle.
Hmmm - gonna take myself a bit of time to figure this out, of course after the full launch it'll probably make a bit more sense to me. I can't quite figure out how to find people I want to follow - I think the people I AM seeing are people that follow (or perhaps are followed by) the person that sent me an invite. I'm following two people, and I can only see 9 others under 'Explore'. But no big hurry, getting here 'early' gives me a more relaxed situation in which to stumble…
I've made 2.66 BCH here since I began and bought 4 outright and if I sold absolutely everything right now I'd be down $1,000 from my investment. I am SO extremely glad that I paid close attention to the first rule of finances - do not invest what you cannot afford to lose. I definitely would not LIKE losing $1,000 if I was forced to cash it in for fiat today, but the point is I COULD afford to lose it since I did not use money I absolutely needed for anything else. The…
So I guess I cannot comment to posts unless the user also follows me. (hint hint)
Wasn't really looking, walking from one room in the house to another only to suddenly find my nose about an inch from running smack into an orb this thing built in the doorway to my Dad's old bedroom here.
So there is a new 'version' of Noise.cash called Noise.app which anyone can join and read, but you must have an invite link to join and post content. I do have access to invite links if anyone should be interested in joining there.
Dang it. Spiders need to stay OUTSIDE of the house. But the nights are getting chillier as fall approaches and some of them think they might want to move into the house to keep warm. NO. 👺 And most especially DO NOT build orb webs in the bedroom doorway. lol 3 AM, me and the kitties are starting out a new day. 😺😺😺
I have had the new couch a little over two weeks now and this is the first time Scar has decided to see how well it naps. 😸
A FEW WORDS ABOUT YOUR INVITE LINK: An invite link CAN be good for up to 25 different people to use - however, the default setting is ONE user. If you want your link to be good for more than one person to use, scroll the page down and choose a higher number of people that can use it. (Of course I have been known to be incorrect, but you might want to check and make sure before posting your link)
So you can't actually see a list of who is following you, but you CAN see a list of who has joined using your 'Invite' link by clicking 'Messages' - people invited by you are automatically added there. *wanders off to poke more buttons*
The Saturday morning StarterPak™ featuring caffeine, nicotine, and cannabis Indica. Add a bit of 'Gray's Anatomy' to binge-watch and I'm ready to relax and enjoy.
HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THE NEW NOISE SITE? Noise.app Not yet completely finished, not yet monetized, but it is there and active. *You must be invited to the site via an invite link to be a full member* Joining without an invite link is possible, but you can ONLY read material unless you join through an invite. I've been there slightly over 48 hours and I am liking it quite a bit. People cannot respond to your discussions UNLESS YOU FOLLOW THEM which will seriously cut back on…
Mr Dirt Pig dropped by for an unexpected visit this afternoon. I don't hardly see him up near the house at all, but as I let one of the cats out, there he was...
Well well well, guess who's coming to dinner? Groundhogs are normally shy, easily spooled critters, and I don't get much of a chance to see one up close, but as I let one of the cats out (Emoci actually) this afternoon there was Mr Dirt Pig out at the Squirrel Tree snooping around for an afternoon snack, so I s-l-o-w-l-y back away from the door and grabbed the Canon PowerShot (has a great zoom) and ended up with the best photo of a Sausage I have yet to take.
Too bad we can't 'share' posts here (at least not yet, of course the site is nowhere near to completion) but I CAN share a link to Simon's profile, which I would suggest people visit and read the first discussion at his profile. Noise.app is NEW - and it is still basically in a 'testing' phase so there are going to be features we have had at Noise.cash (that have not been implemented here yet) and some features of Noise.cash may not end up here. Meanwhile, we should all try…
...and here come the plagiarists at Noise.app I've been routinely going through the 'Explore' section and adding users that have added me or that are posting things that interest me. It would appear one of them that had added me doesn't have any of their own words to speak but prefers 'lifting' their words from other places. Sad that people are too lazy to earn their own way... https://noise.app/sany72
I guess I could easily copy/paste anything I write at Noise.app and put it here. I suppose I could easily copy/paste anything I write here and put it there. But I'm one of those people that would rather make two different posts - which cover the same topic - but are unique to themselves. That's just me. I'm a picky bastage. Yeah, it takes more time, and many people may not consider it worth the effort, but myself, I don't like to read the exact same discussion two times.…
I'm sure most of the people I regularly interact with here have found me at Noise.app but if you haven't (and you want to) I used the same name both places https://noise.app/myklj999
♫ And I'm freeeeee Free fallin' ♫ Kicking off the morning with the first Tom Petty solo album 'Full Moon Fever'. That and a mug of coughee. Gotta have my morning coughee moment.
Kicking off the morning with coffee and Tom Petty. Doesn't get much better than this.
Listening to the original release of 'Tommy' from The Who. Scar gives his approval of the choice of music.
Damn skunks are busy in the neighborhood this morning, I've seen them 4 times in the front yard in the past 2 hours.
So several nights ago I was kicked back on the couch watching TV and suddenly a vortex to another dimension began to form near the ceiling by the front door but then just as suddenly vanished. And I swear this happened and no one is going to believe it but I saw it. I sat on the couch for a few minutes quietly "WTF?"ing to myself trying to process what I had seen but had nothing to compare it with. And maybe it was not a vortex to another dimension. Being as I have never…
Emoci thinks life is all about the quality of the nap.
Emoci demonstrates how to properly nap on the new couch.
I love how it looks as though Scar's lower jaw becomes completely unhinged when he yawns, it almost looks as though he is yelling at someone.
I've never had this problem before with any of the cats I have had (and I've had 50 years worth of cats) but this is the third time P.T. (Petey) has brought a bat home in the past 4 weeks.
3rd bat Petey has brought home (that I know of) in the last 4 weeks. I really wish he'd leave them alone.
So I got a letter from the county clerk to register to vote by mail permanently, and I am all for that, but as I was looking over the form before I filled it out I noticed a slight mistake. They left the address to return it to blank. I love watching my government bureaus in action.
Can anyone else access their wallet through the menu link here? Mine is not showing if I click settings or wallet.
So it was not me nor my connection, Noise was responsible for not being able to access my wallet earlier (it works now). https://noise.cash/post/3gwn4p4sk9qp
Talk about a blast from the past, the Talking Head of Noise.cash made a post for the first time in forever https://noise.cash/post/3gwn4p4sk9qp
Scar (left) and Emoci are happily enjoying Caturday morning catnaps on the living room couch. #Caturday
Scar (left) got up on the couch and curled up next to me earlier, and then Emoci decided maybe that was a good idea so SHE curled up next to Scar. #Caturday
Half-moon rising 84x zoom Canon SX 410 IS 12:40 A.M. Sept 18 USA
Quiet Sunday morning kicked back on the couch watching TV and Scar jumped up with me, followed a few minutes later by Emoci.
It took over two years to reach the point that Scar and Emoci felt they could curl up next to each other without Scar becoming a total ass and running her off. And this is only the second time both have chosen to lay down on the couch with me while I watch television.
I told someone I was having lasagna for lunch today and they asked if it was frozen and I said "Nope, I heated it up in the oven first".
Looks like a BCH feature is on the way here although I don't know if it is active yet, however I do know you can add a wallet in your Settings here now.
There is now a place in the Setting menu at Noise.app to add a BCH address
You will be able to donate at Noise.app with BCH, BTC, ETH, or PayPal
The 'Donate' feature here allows BCH, BTC, ETH, or PayPal
ATTENTION - the 'Donate' function is working now at Noise.app if you go to your profile/settings there and enter your wallet address or PayPal.me address. I have both received and sent donations, it does indeed work now for those that were waiting for a BCH 'tip' option there. I WILL STRESS THAT YOU HAVE TO USE YOUR OWN FUNDS. Noise is not passing tips out there (yet) to share with others, you must have your own funds to tip/donate with. Link to Simon's post about it…
Scar sits on a speaker near the front door waiting for the Sky Water to stop falling so he can go out and enjoy things
If anyone wants to check it out, that new 'Donate' feature is there on the right if you click the three dots at the top the post. Meantime, here is Scar waiting for the rain to stop so he can go outside and do Impawtent Cat Schtuff.
And a perfect example of why I finally put a trail camera in the side yard, had a visit from a deer last night.
THIS IS A RANT. So you know, there are these people. And they are not a certain kind or type of people, they are all kinds of types of people. And these people - me included - believe that CENSORSHIP IS WRONG. And up to that point, all is fine. But out of these people, there exists a subset of THOSE people, and THOSE people (some of which are the original 'these people') want to ban certain words, and certain objects - which is censorship. So how can you cry about censorship…
Emoci gives me the slit-eye stare for disturbing her peaceful nap. She decided a few days ago she had found a new nap spot on top of some speaker cabinets I have in a back bedroom, and anytime I can't find her, that is where she is.
I'm a snooty snob. I'll be the first to admit it, especially about sound quality. If it doesn't sound like the real thing is in your living room, it is not equipment I would own. And by the way, "the real thing is in your living room" does not refer to volume/loudness. Loud can be distorted and sound like crap. It refers instead to clarity, such as sounding like that guy playing his acoustic guitar and singing is sitting in your living room on your couch playing and singing.…
Came across this in my files from a few years ago, taken just as the sun was lightening up the sky to begin another day. The best 'daytime' moonshot I have taken in my opinion.
I got ready to donate 50 cents to someone over at Noise.app via the PayPal.me thing and it was going to cost me 50 cents in fees to do it. NOPE. Guess I'll stick with BCH.
I saw the PayPal/me thingamabob and thought "Cool" because PayPal has never been a problem for me - until I tried donating to someone today and it was going to cost me the exact same amount in fees as what I was going to donate. Not cool. Guess I'll stick with the extreme low fees associated to BCH.
Ah yes, a sign of fall - the annual infestation of the Brown Marinated Stink Bastages (brown marmorated stink bug). I'd noticed them flying about the yard the past few days but this is the first (of many to come) I have found in the house this year. And these are bugs that you REALLY do not want to kill inside or you will find out exactly why they are called 'stink bugs' (and you will realize you should have listened to me lol). These bugs are not native to the United…
A sure sign that fall is upon us it the yearly swarming of the brown marmorated stink bugs. I have quite a bit of wood and brush in the area surrounding my house and they evidently feel it is Park Avenue-quality real estate and wish to share in the bounty, as well as spend the winter hiding out in my house. Removed the first unwanted tenant of the year from the living room wall last night.
Plagiarism really bothers me. And I guess some people don't get the gist of it that posting photos and words written by someone else and not mentioning that they belong to someone else and are not yours is plagiarism. I haven't blocked anyone over it here yet, but I have unfollowed a few and will certainly end up unfollowing more. If it ain't yours, then you should state it is not yours and you should state who it belongs to. Doing otherwise makes you a thief. Just felt the…
I'm already watching people that are forecasting the demise of Noise.app because Noise is not funding tips there. These, of course, are people that have never spent a penny here tipping from their own funds and relied on Noise to supply all the tips - which says quite a bit about them. I guess they don't understand the philosophy of people that give as well as take, they are all about the 'taking' only. I have to say they will not be missed at Noise.app
Emoci thinks she likes the new keyboard I bought yesterday even though I keep telling her I did not buy it for her use.
This is the only time I am going to say it, but a big THANK YOU to those that donate to me here. Since entering my wallet address pretty much as soon as it was physically possible to do so here I have received $3.25 (I had cleared all but 2 cents from the wallet.) Pretty cool that people will give even a grouchly ol' man like me money. Although honestly it is probably for the cats. lol
Soooo...if ex-president Donald Trump claims to have been able to have declassified documents with the power of thought while he was President (his statement not mine) does that mean he can now demand to look at any document he wants since he can say he declassified it with his mind while he was still in office? 🤔 I try to not be political but this man amazes me - even more amazing (to the point of alarming really) is he still has a very strong political base. (Screenshot…
Time to fire up some tunes and some weed and kick back for the night.
6 P.M. time to fire up some tunes and some weed and kick back for the night. Thank you US state of Illinois for legalizing recreational use at home.
Emoci & Scar enjoying catnaps together. Loving Cat Dad™ that I am, I am tip-toeing through the living room so as not to awaken them. 5 A.M. on a Friday morning, 9 °C/49 °F currently as I await the sun to get its lazy butt up.
I have told her and I have told her and I have told her AGAIN that it is a mouse pad and not a cat pad, but 'moci don't listen. 😺 #Caturday
All this time I had mistakenly been calling this a 'mouse pad' when it turns out that it is actually a cat pad. #Caturday Emoci insists she is in the correct spot.
Drove just over the state line (30 miles) from Olney Illinois to Vincennes Indiana this morning to go watch my youngest brother's band do a set at a music festival there. The name of the band is Muddy Creek & Co and the members are: Parker Fyffe/Lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Wes Marvel/Lead guitar, Ian Kemper/Keyboards and harmony vocals, Tyler King/Bass guitar, Steve Ratcliffe/Drums (brother).
Something I had not done for an EXTREMELY long time was go to a multi-band show and not have to do anything but watch. And after I saw the trouble(s) the guy doing sound for the show had, I was SO glad I am retired from running sound. And I got to sit back and just enjoy the show.
Wow, disappear for a few days and get slammed with a few hundred posts and of course there is no simple way to just remove all prior notifications and start over from scratch. So 20 minutes of dedicated clicking and scrolling finally cleared everything off. 7 °C/45 °F outside at 1:15 A.M., expecting a high this afternoon of 21 °C/69 °F but currently I have to stop and pet Emoci before she starts walking all over the keyboard (again, I've already corrected several errors she…
Exceedingly quiet over on this side of the house. I was just over on .app clearing off notifications (a lot of stuff piled up over two days) and I expected quite a bit more over here than what there was.
Just for the record, there are no plans to shut down Noise.cash (per Simon) https://noise.app/simon/v9k53glk/comments/nk9j6v0p simon 18 minutes ago to @Jane1289 Jane1289 Will noise.cash stop once you fully updated the noise.app? It will stop if people stop posting. We don't have any plans to "block" it or something. Unless of course it becomes a zombie land and everyone already imported their posts to noise.app
Bit of a chill here this morning and a good beginning to the day - I went outside to check the trail camera just before posting this and I evidently scared off a fox as I opened the front door. Also got several photos of the raccoons feeding last night. @Chuckinflorida didn't expect the fox right out at the feed tree
Not a real good shot but caught a fox out in the front yard with the trail cam this morning
Scar says it is time for the afternoon nap. I'm halfway tempted to take one myself.
'Ring-tailed Trash Panda' (raccoon) feeding on squirrel corn at the feeder tree early this morning (3:25 A.M.)
One of the local gang of raccoons out front this morning posing as it got some corn for breakfast.
Mr. (or possibly Mrs. or Ms. or who knows) Skunk came by for a short visit out at the Squirrel Tree last night.
A skunk filmed in color or in black and white is still black and white unless it got ran over then there may be red but under infrared it is still only black and white.
Ramen noodles with jalapenos and chicken breast chunks. Quick (relatively) and easy in the slow cooker, two hours start to finish. I'll be noodling out of the pot for the next day and a half or so.
Spinning Joe Walsh's solo release 'So What?' on the stereo this afternoon. Includes the absolutely beautiful song 'Help Me Through The Night'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99sBCTN-0ww
Joe was with the James Gang and then he was solo and then he was with the Eagles and then he was solo and then he was with the Eagles again and now I think he's solo again but this is from the first time he was solo.
