About tea:
Tea is a cheering drink. Now-a-days it is the most popular drink in the world. We get it from tea leaves. Tea grows well in the hilly places where rainwater cannot stand at all. Excessive rainwater is needed for the growth of tea plants. It grows in China,Japan, India and Bangladesh. In Bangladesh it grows well in the hilly areas of Sylhet and Chittagong. Tea plants grow from seeds. Seeds are sown in March. Seedlings are planted in rows in five feet apart. They are regularly pruned and allowed to grow only four or five feet high. When tea plants are four years of age,leaves are plucked three or four times a years. The leaves are first dried in the sun and roasted in fire. Thus the leaves are ready for use and sale.The preparation of tea is not hard task. At first water is boiled in a pot. Tea-leaves are put into boiling water. After three or four minutes it is poured into cups through a sieve. Then suger and milk is mixed with it.Thus it becomes a good drink. Tea is a useful drink to us. It refreshes body and mind and gives energy for work. It also helps us to keep awake. In our country it is an important cash crop. Tea is termed as refreshing drink. But it is not always good for health. It kills hunger. The demand of our tea is spreading worldwide. The importance of tea in our national economy is very great. It brings a good deal of foreign money every year. So we should take care of better production of tea.
About tea stall:
A tea Stall is a small shop where ready tea is mainly served to the customers. Some dry foods like biscuits, cakes,different kinds of hand-made snacks are also served here. A tea stall is found almost everywhere. We can see a tea stall in the corners of the streets, near office or factory,steamer or launch ghat or at the railway station. A tea stall is also found in a village hat and bazar. In a tea stall,there are a few chairs, tables or benches for the customers to sit on and enjoy tea. A boy or two serve tea to the customers. A manager generally sits beside the cashbox. The customers go to him and pay him the bill. But sometimes the boys of the tea stall collect the moeny and give it to him. It is a place for gossip,rest and recreation. It is frequently visited by passerby, the tired office assistant, the labourers, the rickshaw pullers,the political workers and also the students. A tea stall opens early in the morning and is closed at midnight. It remains busy because customers come very now and then. In fact,it is a place of pleasure for people of all ages and all walks of life
