Hello there. So I'm here to finish up on the article on Diabetes, the previous article has a lot of information in it so do well to check it out so you can get updated.

Let's dive right into it then...

As we know, there are two major types of DM (Types I and II) and the management would be carried out based on these types.

Type I diabetes is typically managed using insulin. They have been a lot of advances in insulin used for management of Diabetes.

Type II diabetes is typically managed using oral hypoglycemics. These are special drugs that help the insulin uptake by body cells possible.

Do not initiate treatment on your own. Please see a physician for optimal treatment modalities.

The complications of Diabetes includes the following;

  1. Diabetic coma

  2. Diabetic retinopathy

  3. Diabetic neuropathy

  4. Diabetic foot ulcer

  5. Diabetic nephropathy

  6. Stroke

  7. Cardiovascular diseases

  8. Peripheral artery disease

These are some of the complications that unmanaged or poorly managed diabetes might lead to.
