In an effort to make smartBCH more safe and secure for users, smartBCH lead developer Dr. Kui Wang has developed a system that will remove one of the most insecure parts of EVM. Generally users of EVM chains must give and revoke approval for contracts and carefully manage the permissions of them or they run the risk of having funds stolen. On April 20th smartBCH upgraded and the "**Xhedge**" improvement was added. A new validator "BCHMINE" also joined the chain. BCHN and Bitcoin Verde have teamed up to conduct research to assess scaling and performance on BCH. The two teams have come up with a plan to test several categories of software. The tests will be carried out by the Bitcoin Verde team and published in standardized reports published on **bitcoincashresearch.org**. The next smartBCH upgrade will take place on April 20th 2022. This upgrade will include "XHedge". XHedge is a system that will allow BCH holders to elect validators for the smartBCH chain. Voting power will be divided 50% Proof of Stake and 50% Proof of Work. Validators will be able to set the minimum fees for the network and more.
