According to **defillama.com**, smartBCH has a TVL of $22.7 million on November 7, 2021, among three DeFi protocols. The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), the country’s biggest bank, is providing customers with the ability to buy, sell, and hold crypto assets directly through its app. The bank has partnered with crypto exchange Gemini and blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis to provide crypto services, including safe and secure crypto trading and custody services.

**Jihan Wu**, co-founder of **Matrixport** and **Bit.com** and CEO of **BitDeer**, said in the Chinese BCH community that BCH is the real Shiba Inu (SHIB). He explained that Shiba Inu's success comes from its community, as its community was once quite desperate, but the core community members kept going and eventually ushered in a big explosion in the coin's price. The situation is very similar to BCH. **Eligma** was awarded second place at the Emerging Payments Awards 2021on October 6. The Emerging Payments Award is an award set by the Emerging Payments Association (EPA). **Robinhood**, a stock and cryptocurrency trading platform, **announced** the launch of its cryptocurrency wallet. Starting next month, the first customers will begin testing crypto wallets and Robinhood will continue to roll out access to more and more customers through the waitlist. Robinhood says the built-in wallet will support authentication, email verification and other security features. The People's Bank of China issued a Q&A statement on preventing cryptocurrency risk. It said all forms of cryptocurrency transactions were illegal and should be banned. Offshore providers of crypto services to Chinese citizens are also in violation of the law. Other contents in the statement are mostly the same as the one issued in 2017, but added the derivatives part.
According to Futu Niuniu App, in accordance with the regulatory requirements of the SFC, the following codes: GBTC, EHTE, ETCG, GDLC, OBTC, LTCN, BCHG will be prohibited from opening new positions from October 1, 2021, existing open positions will not be affected. BCHG, is a Bitcoin Cash Trust (BCHG) issued by Grayscale Investments, a digital asset management company.

**AMC Entertainment**, the world’s largest movie theater chain, has unveiled its plan to accept cryptocurrencies by the end of the year. **Interactive Brokers (IBKR)**, one of the largest online trading brokerages with more than 360 billion dollars in assets under custody, is launching crypto access for their US customers in partnership with **Paxos**. They had a family join the virtual meetup and were able to show the family how to set-up a wallet and share BCH. Will host in-person events when possible. Looking for a location to host meetups with a merchant that accepts BCH.
**Nueva Esparta, Venezuela**: Hosting virtual meetups every 2 weeks to target CPAs and Accountants. Approx 20 to 25 new attendees every meetup. Using virtual meetups due to COVID. Hosted an in-person meetup last Friday with 30 students. They are looking for ways to finance their own projects.
**Bangalore, India**: Hosted an in-person meetup. 8 newcomers attended which is great given the circumstances with Covid. Instacrypto is adding new features for merchants accepting BCH. They are hosting Crypto101 virtually on Tuesday evenings. 11 new merchants added recently using Zapit wallet!
**Ghana**: Hosting monthly meetups. Hosted an in-person meetup at local University with a Student Investing Club. There were over 70 attendees and most were new to Crypto/BCH. New wallets were downloaded and BCH was distributed, sponsored by SA. Host was added to the Student Investors chat so he was able to also share BCH in the group.

**Mexico**: Hosting an in-person meetup on July 22nd in Bitcoin Embassy Bar in Mexico City. They will demo BCH and BTC using LN vs the Bitcoin.com wallet. Improve the commercial adoption process through a horizontal approach, Approach groups of startups that are currently in search of solutions in payment methods, it is also worth approaching Technological Development communities, Events such as Startup Weekend, Movistar, Tequila Valley. The idea is to also encourage the development of solutions that use Bitcoin Cash as a base.
It is also important to keep programmers more informed about the technological advances within Bitcoin Cash, such as SLP Tokens, ICOs, among other tools and opportunities to develop on Bitcoin Cash.
For example, it is possible in Bitcoin Cash to develop a decentralized DeX, which does not need human intervention to make settlements to a stable currency, such as Honest Cash SLP, this saves costs.
The idea is to create solutions with a global approach. For example, today there are many solutions that involve a token to verify the production chain. Extrapolating, a tourist token could be created, which allows tourists to identify themselves to different decentralized organizations.

In Nueva Esparta, Venezuela we started an education day on cryptocurrencies for accountants. In this first edition we had the presence of 54 accountants who received an induction on crypto assets.
Thanks to the support of Bitcoin Cash and Satoshi's Angels, these professionals already had a first contact with the world of cryptocurrencies, which will allow them to get closer to their clients, talk to them on the possibility of safeguarding their capital and further expand the financial issue with their clients, who are primarily business owners.
Recently, me and Blancomorao, we had the opportunity to host an in-person meetup on the topic of Cryptotourism and Bitcoin Cash and it is worth highlighting the idea that José Betancourt has about developing an application for the tourism sector, starting a pilot test here in Nueva Esparta . Taking what was proposed by JZA, we could incorporate a tourism token in Bitcoin Cash.
Among other ideas, we talked about the possibility of creating a Bitcoin Academy, the idea is to allow all those people who do not yet know about the topic of Cryptocurrencies to learn in a fast, friendly, safe way.

Bitcoin Cash Network Discussion June 2021 - Summary
****Summary****
On June 1st 2021 the fifth Bitcoin Cash Network Discussion took place over zoom.
The main topic of this discussion was **PMv3: Version 3 Transaction Format**.
Currently, BCH has very limited scripting and smart contract capabilities. Also as transactions get more complex there is the potential for them to become much more expensive.
PMv3 is a proposal for a new transaction format that will upgrade several of BCH’s abilities.
****Potential Positives:****
Add the ability to do ETH style smart contracts on chain
New contract validated token system and token applications
Output we are spending can be reduced to just a hash value, taking up less space
Will allow for more user side abilities and upgrades that do not require a protocol upgrade
Prediction markets and decentralized exchanges will become possible to create
****Things to consider :****
It will require a protocol upgrade to change consensus rules
All indexing software, API’s, SPV wallets etc will need to be upgraded
Hardware and software wallets would only need an upgrade to take advantage of the new features

**Kim Dotcom**, founder of **K.IM**, **MEGA** and **Whybitcoincash.com**, tweeted that he doesn't support Lightning instead of Bitcoin Cash because nobody owns the Bitcoin Cash blockchain and it's free of patents. That's not the case with Lightning as its patents are owned by Blockstream. Blockstream has made a limited pledge to keep patents open but anyone who understands patent law knows this pledge can be changed and it excludes hardware like point-of-sale terminals, a massive industry. Blockstream was against bigger blocks because it wanted to benefit from Lightning.
