Rain came as a relief

Rain came in as a great blessing from the scorching heat. After long we received a heavy rain with severe thunder and lightning.

The electricity board turned off the current due to heavy thunder. This is a routine practice followed here. A safe side being followed by the electricity department. But lightning was so severe that I could see the objects in the room very clearly even in darkness.

As the rain started late afternoon and continued tilI evening I couldn't capture pictures from my place.

From the humid climate such rains are great relief for those who are fasting. We do feel the tiredness when it is too much hot but though it rained only for two hours the atmosphere and the surrounding environment became cold. Such was the intensity of the rain.

The plants and tress are also looking more refreshing. Though we water the plants every evening, by day they look sulken as though it has not been watered the previous evening. By the rain the dried ones turned out to be greenin colour.

Our daily visitor, the birds, came in late evening for its food.

There is a disadvantage also. Along with rain comes lots of mosquitoes. The time for them to attack on humans. So we made it a point to close the windows by 4.00 p.m. in the evening. Just a precaution.

As final exams for school students from pre primary to secondary are in full swing we could hear the school buses plying in front of our gate. Today I noticed three primary children blushing and getting down from the bus as it was raining heavily.

Infact they wanted to enjoy the rain but it did not last long as the parents were waiting at their respective homes waiting for the children to return home. Few moments in rain were great moments as they were blushing and hesitating to go home.

The current was back few hours after the rain was stopped. But then again the humidity continues.......
