With more and more millennials making over $1 million dollars every year, you might be asking yourself, how can I get in on this action? And you’re in luck! I’ve created an 8-day Bootcamp that can help you take the necessary steps to join the ranks of America’s wealthiest citizens! In this series of eight blog posts, I will teach you about the tools and strategies that have helped me become financially successful at such a young age, so keep reading to learn how you can be part of the next generation of millionaires.

Day 1: Love your job

You have to love your job. Love it so much that you could do it for free, or better yet: love it so much that you would pay someone to let you do it. After all, if you don’t absolutely love what you are doing, then why are you doing it? The reality is that everything we do is essentially a skill set designed around our interests. You have to find something where your interest meets your ability and go from there; as simple as that sounds, many people never even discover their interest because they simply aren’t mindful of what they enjoy. If nothing else, I can promise one thing about those who make millions – they were passionate about something at some point and decided to turn that passion into a career.

Day 2: Make friends with your bank manager

This is something many new entrepreneurs struggle with. It’s not only a good idea to have a regular meeting with your bank manager, but it will likely make you much more successful. Remember that when it comes to money, if you don’t ask for what you want then you won’t get it. It’s a simple fact of life, and one we all need to embrace. Don’t be afraid to talk about your business and how much money you're going to need over various time periods, or how much debt might be involved. If your banker doesn't understand what you do and where your business is heading, then either find a better one or work on educating them before asking for money!

Day 3: Know what you are good at

It’s easy to think you’re good at something when you’re just starting out. It can be a great source of motivation, especially when your dreams are still in front of you. But if success comes slowly or never, it’s easy to get discouraged and tell yourself that you lack talent. Now is a good time to start thinking critically about your skills and what really brings you joy. If there are things in life that make you happy, chances are they would also be fulfilling as a career choice. Think hard about what makes you happy.

Day 4: Realise where you are today

The first five days of your new, improved life are finally coming to a close. By now you've learned how to invest your money and how to live on less than $10,000 per year. Tomorrow you'll be on track with your financial goals and eating a diet that will make it easy for you to lose weight. But even with all that knowledge under your belt, there's still one big question left unanswered: what will it take? What does success look like for you? How will you achieve success? How much time and effort will it take? And most importantly: what does success mean for YOU?

Day 5: What will it take?

With all of your expenses accounted for, and a buffer for your savings account set up, you can start looking at what you need to do to be a millionaire by next year. Now, I’m not asking you to put out what are essentially classified ads online or seek out brochures from financial advisors (although they may come in handy), I want you to think about what it will take – what sacrifices will you have to make and how many hours will you have to work – in order for that goal of being a millionaire by next year become a reality. Write down two figures on your paper: how much money per month will you have to bring home after taxes and how many hours per week do you plan on working.

Day 6: Do what you love - with others

Today you’re going to take a tip from Billionaire Warren Buffett and give back. Today, volunteer at a charity or organization that interests you. Get involved! Whether it's building houses with Habitat for Humanity, mentoring inner-city youth through Big Brothers Big Sisters, or reading to kids at your local library, there are limitless opportunities available to you. This will not only help others but also make you feel good about yourself as well! Remember - selfless giving is one of three pillars of personal finance success so be sure to do some volunteer work every year as part of your financial plan.

Day 7: Learn from the best and be unique

Finding a mentor that fits your style and personality is great, but take it one step further: also find someone you consider to be a rival. Learn from them as much as you do from your mentor, but be willing to differentiate yourself and offer something new. Being unique sets you apart from your competition and lets people know that even though you have big goals, there’s an effortless authenticity about how you move through life. Yes, there are always going to be people who dislike what you have to say or what your business offers because they’re afraid of change or competition—just don’t let them stop your momentum towards reaching millionaire status by 2022!

Day 8: Take action - don't wait!

If you’re like most people, you love to dream and plan, but there’s a big difference between dreaming and doing. Successful people are known for taking action—not just planning and fantasizing. And while a little daydreaming is perfectly fine, it can be harmful if it leaves you stuck in place, wasting time that could have been spent on a better course of action. Today challenge yourself to start acting on your dream. What small steps could you take toward your goal? Even if it feels scary at first (and believe us, it will!), remember: It’s not about how far you move forward today—it’s about building momentum for tomorrow . . . and beyond!
