Hello everyone! I am here to discuss the fact as to why Kpop is so addictive. Many people have their own reasons and some need help to understand why they are so obsessed with this genre of music. I feel like there are so many different reasons why and a lot of people will, hopefully, agree on the observations I have made.
When listening to music, it's mainly an escape; to find a happier place and feel connected with something besides the struggles and hardships life has to offer. People run to their favorite artists for comfort because sometimes the lyrics speak to them. That's how I feel Kpop is
Kpop Is A Stress Reliever
While many believe any type of music can get rid of the feeling of stress, I have seen Kpop do it more. Whenever I see non-Kpop fans talk about their favorite singers, not a lot express how much the music has helped them through so much. Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and One Direction seem to be the most praised English artists amongst the young generation and most fans express their feelings about these groups the most. But when it comes to Kpop groups, every group's fans always share how much their music has made their life better.
feel as if in Kpop, artists are more appreciated than any other artists around the world. These are my observations and I feel like Kpop helps more people than other artist's songs. On this app, I have seen hundreds of posts about Kpop saving them from harsh days at school and family problems; I find that amazing. This genre of music is capable of this and that is unbelievable!
Kpop Is Unique
Kpop holds a precious place in the music world. While other artists around the world perform and promote, I feel as if Kpop expresses their hard work more. The music videos seem more story written, as if there is a novel being played before us and showing us a tale. Companies want their groups to be recognized by amazing choreographies to truly bring in the audiences attention. Most American music videos rarely have a dance choreo and when they do, it's not as spectacular as Kpop groups.
The idols also train for many years until being allowed a debut! We can't help but to admire that! The fact that they go through such prestige training and long schedules goes to show they work super hard in order to prepare for each performance. American artists don't necessarily train for over 6-7 years. It's more like a discovery or a mention to a company and they will consider you and possibly release your EP if they think it's worth it. It's quick and simple it seems next to the Kpop world. We can't help but to appreciate the groups because we are such proud and loyal fans. It's hard not to!
Kpop Albums And Other Merch
Now, this one is quite simple. Next to American albums, Kpop is the God of album making. Kpop albums are made with so much dedication; from illustrious photo books to random member photocards and the design of the whole album itself. Companies know how to draw in fans and make them excited for their favorite group or soloist's comeback. American albums are more of just a CD that comes in a jewel case and a tracklist. Sometimes, very rarely, they will improvise and add a little photobook; like One Direction's management.
Kpop albums create excitement when delivered to your front door. It's fun to open them up and see how much hard work was put in. This gives Kpop a more fun and admirable recognition.
Kpop is also known for its extreme prices, but that's because the quality of merch is good. Light sticks for concerts, lotions & chapstick & perfume, posters, face masks, etc, it gives the Kpop experience a more fun way to support everyone!
Kpop Choreo
Like I said before, Kpop has amazing choreography. They train and prepare months, possibly a year, before their next comeback just to make sure they get it right. The dances these groups have are creative and strong, giving fans something to look forward to.
We can't help but feel thrilled when seeing our favorite singers perform with a cool, new dance because we can see how much effort they put in. Also, choreographies inspire other dancers and sometimes dance leaders at schools teach such choreos to their students, making it a more fun environment.
Kpop Songs
There are so many different types of Kpop and other forms of Korean music. Each fan has a different style and there's always something to relate to.
I live in America and I can't stand the music we have playing on our radios. That being said, I haven't listened to the radio since 2011, but having friends that do, I know which songs are new because they would play them on their iPod. Most of our songs have drinking, partying, and sexual intentions thrown in. Now, I'm not saying Kpop does not because there are songs with those subjects in them, but what's different about Kpop is that, they don't do it in such a provocative way. It's more of a poetic style that we can just figure it ourselves. It's lyrics that we don't cringe to or dislike because we can just feel a little more comfortable with the song.
It's amazing what their songs can do to us. We can feel more relaxed, pumped up, or even sad. It's such a roller coaster of emotions that we don't mind; we come back for more!
Kpop Influence
Even though people reject this form of music, some artists can't help but take inspiration from Kpop. If you go on YouTube and look up Kpop Copies, you'll see people around the word have used the same instrumental but different meanings and lyric.
Now, in a way this could be called plagiarism, but at the same time, it's amazing that these people have come across or Kpop groups and liked the song? If you see it in this light, maybe you won't have a grudge against those artists? Along with the songs, dress style and dance can also be an influential thing.
Dance styles are always copied but changed; adding just the right personal flare to make it different. It's amazing what Kpop has achieved in these many years. You guys should be proud people have liked our idol's songs and have wanted to do something like that. Yes, I agree they shouldn't plagiarize but it's still an interesting thought. But doesn't amaze you that Kpop has grown so much overtime? Our favorite type of music has inspired lots!
Kpop Idols Behaviors
We can admit we just can't help but love them 😂 The members in our favorite groups are just so relatable, right?! I swear I feel like I know them personally.
What's great is the numerous amount of members in a group, making them more special and interesting. It's great to watch them on variety shows and to see their true sides peek out. That's why I love BTS' Bombs, Girls' Generation's Channel GG, and the old ShowTime shows. We can have fun watching them as they go on around their daily lives and show us behind the scenes!
It's amazing, isn't it? Along with that, we choose biases. Biases make the whole Kpop experience more addicting and fascinating as we can support a whole group but cherish that one person that makes us smile everyday. For me, it's Taeyeon, of course.
Watching Taeyeon do everything on a show, I can't help but feel happy. I love seeing her be herself because I can truly learn more about her and enjoy the funny shows they put her on. In America, we don't have that luxury. Singers are just performers. Sometimes, on Late Night Shows, the hosts will make the singers do something weird or funny, but it's a small, 5 minute segment until they're onto the next person. I wish we had a better tv structure so we can have that.
Kpop Fandom
The fandom itself is an amazing thing to be a part of. Even though we have the negative fans or "wars", the positive and true fans overpower those. Most fans in this fandom are super supportive; like a big happy family.
It makes me proud. I am happy to be here and sharing this with you because honestly, it makes me feel better everyday. You guys are such perfect people that I couldn't imagine a lifetime outside of this fandom
