Could The End Of The Brave Referral Program Be Good For CryptoTab?

The End Of A Season

The Brave Browser referral program has probably been one of the most promoted programs in Crypto circles since it was introduced in 2018! Approximately 80% of people reading this post right now are most likely doing so via Brave. Despite some rather shady activity recently, Brave have managed to maintain a significant number of active users. However, the company recently announced the phasing out of their current program as they prepare to launch a new referral program in 2021.

Does this perhaps mean that many users will perhaps migrate to alternative services where they can continue to earn from their network? Look at what happened to Atomic Wallet. While the referral airdrop was active and ongoing, Atomic Wallet was the darling of all wallets. Come the suspension of the airdrop campaign and the narrative shifted very sharply. This is human behavior and to be expected. The majority of people are loyal to themselves first and if something or someone is no longer rewarding, the loyalty they once displayed disappears.

This dynamic has caused me to wonder if a competitor such as CryptoTab Browser will perhaps pick up the slack and onboard a fresh army of users. Though the rewards are significantly higher on Brave than CryptoTab, there are a couple of upsides that will appeal to a certain group of users. I do believe that for the most part Brave will maintain their footing in the marketplace but I also believe that many will diversify and make use of other services as well. This move will most likely be motivated by a need to compensate for lost referral earnings.

Who Is Likely To Seek Out Greener Pastures?

Your average Brave Browser user will most likely be best served remaining with Brave. Browser mining is generally a waste of time but I tested CryptoTab out before writing this and I found it a lot faster than say the CoinPot version. On a single device, the average user will passively earn approximately 200 satoshi a day, which isn't much but pretty good as far as browser mining goes.

However, this is where the draw card for CryptoTab comes into play. You can connect as many devices to your network as you like. For instance, I have a second laptop on my desk that I use to mine BFG tokens. I have found this way more profitable than Brave or any other mining. I could in turn run CryptoTab on my main laptop, as well as my second laptop and any other computer at my disposal.

This is where influencers with large followings may be attracted to the idea of CryptoTab, as they can create a significantly large mining network through the referral program. The referral program pays all the way to the 10th level, which can add up pretty quickly. The Crypto Wealth YouTube channel has thousands of miners in their network and promote the service quite aggressively.

I suppose any amount of free BTC is worth getting your hands on and if your computers are already running, it's not really costing you much extra. It will be interesting to see if CryptoTab adoption increases in the coming months. My guess is they will see a window of opportunity and perhaps beef up some new promos!

This is not advice or an endorsement of Brave Browser or CryptoTab Browser.
