The Bargaining Business

Daughters everywhere hear this from the lips of men who control your fate, You'll never have your own freedom unless you're patient and you will wait, For fathers may be indulgent and allow you to choose your own attachment, But even then as you marry over to your husband any power is where that went.

In times of old the mothers hoped to wed their daughters in strong alliance, And wayward offspring thinking of themselves were miserable in defiance, Or else if they had a say and were happy with the match they'd have few rights, It seems the world over it's always been the same as wrong as in blacks vs whites.

But we live in an amazing age that has taken centuries to get here at long last, Where finally women can choose and make their own decision unlike in past, It's not the world over yet but for sure things are changing and getting better, And women can make their own minds up and control their futures - so let her!

Take a career, have a family or not, do what pleases you in your personal life, There's still pressure or double standards about but not all will be a wife, Take heart that in these times you can be self made and achieve serious goals, But there's a lot more positives now than ever before with fewer controls.

Now yes I know there's places where things haven't moved on that much, But women are now in lots of driving seats and they're still keeping in touch, So here's to the women of industry and those who run their own family home, They moved from being commodities to the ones making decisions alone.
