Someone asked Hazrat Ali Radiyallahu Anhu, how much did you love Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam? Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah, the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was dearer to us than our wealth, our children, our mothers, and cold water when we were very thirsty.

Benefit: You have told the truth. In fact, this was the condition of Sahabah Keram Radiyallahu Anhum. And why not? They had full faith, Allah Ta'ala has said:

قل إن كان آباؤكم وأبناؤكم وإخوانكم وأزواجكم وعشيرتكم وأموال اقترفتموها وتجارة تخشون كسادها ومساكن ترضونها أحب إليكم من الله ورسوله وجهاد في سبيله فتربصوا حتى يأتي الله بأمره والله لا يهدي القوم الفاسقين

Meaning: Tell them if your father, your son, your brother, your wives, your relatives and the wealth you have earned, and the business in which you fear loss and the house you love if (these Some are dearer to you than Allah Ta'ala and His Messenger and jihad in His way, but wait for the command of Allah Ta'ala. And Allah Ta'ala does not reach the disobedient people to their destination. (Surah Tawbah: 24 - Bayanul Quran)

In that verse, it is feared that the love of Allah Ta'ala and His Messenger will be less than all these things.

Hadrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: None of you can become a believer until my love and affection for him is greater than that of his father, children and all people.

A similar thing has been narrated from Hadrat Abu Hurairah Radiyallahu Anhu.

Ulama Keram said that in the above hadith, love means authoritative love, that is, intentional love. The authoritative love of the body, that is, the natural or unintentional love is not intended here. It may also be that if natural love is the purpose, then faith at the door filled with faith will be the purpose - as was the case with the Companions.

Hadrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The object is the one in whom it is found, the taste of faith and the fun of faith will be his destiny. One) The love of Allah Ta'ala and His Messenger will be greater than all things. Two) If you love anyone, you will love for the sake of Allah Ta'ala. Three) Returning to disbelief seems as difficult to him as falling into the fire.

Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) once prayed, O Messenger of Allah! You are dearer to me than all other things except my soul. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: No person can become a believer until my love for him is greater than his life. Hazrat Umar Radiyallahu Anhu said, O Messenger of Allah! You are dearer to me than my soul. Then the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Now, O 'Umar."

Scholars have given two meanings to this word. A hall is now full of your faith. The other is that you have been warned, that this thing has arisen in you so far that I am dearer to you than your soul, yet it should have been from the beginning.

Suhail Tustari Rahmatullah Alaihi said that a person who does not consider Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam as his guardian at all times and considers his nafs as his own property cannot taste Sunnah.

One of the Companions came to Radiyallahu Anhu Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and prayed, O Rasulullah! When will the resurrection come? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, 'Have you prepared for the Resurrection that you are waiting for?' He pleaded, O Messenger of Allah! I have not prepared much prayer, fasting and charity, but the love of Allah Ta'ala and His Messenger is in my heart. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, 'On the Day of Resurrection you will be with the one with whom you have fallen in love.'

Ershad of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, the resurrection of man will be with the one with whom he has love. This hadith has been narrated by some of the Companions, among them are Abdullah bin Masood, Abu Musa Ashari, Safwan, Abu Dharr Radiyallahu Anhum and others.

Hazrat Anas Radiyallahu Anhu said that the Companions were as happy as they were to hear the Ershad of Radiyallahu Anhum and were not so happy about anything. And it is clear that this was normal. Because the love of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam was tied in their veins. So why shouldn't they be happy.

The house of Hazrat Fatima Radiyallahu Anha was at first a short distance from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “I wish your house was very close. Hazrat Fatima Radiyallahu Anha pleaded, Harisha Radiyallahu Anhu's house is near you. Tell him to exchange it with my house. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, 'I have exchanged with him before, but now I am ashamed.' Upon hearing this news, Harisha Radiyallahu Anhu immediately appeared and pleaded, O Messenger of Allah! I have learned that you want the house of Fatima Radiyallahu Anha to be near you. These are my houses. There is no other house closer than these. Exchange the house you like. O Messenger of Allah! I and my possessions belong to Allah Ta'ala and His Messenger. O Messenger of Allah! I swear by Allah, the goods you will take are more desirable to me than the goods that will remain with me. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, 'You have spoken the truth.' Then he prayed for blessings for her and exchanged houses. (Tabaqat)
