The last and greatest Prophet (peace be upon him) in his twenty-three years of prophetic life, under the full supervision of divine revelation, formed the Mubarak Jamaat as the best model for human civilization, the Sahaba. With their names we say Radiyallahu Ta'ala Anhu, that is, may Allah's pleasure and satisfaction be upon them.
With the blessing of the closeness of the Prophet (peace be upon him), every member of this blessed congregation was eternally pure from all kinds of filth of nafs and instincts. They were dedicated to Jihad fi Sabillah for the liberation of mankind and the welfare of humanity. The ultimate goal of their lives was to bring the lost human caravan back to the path of Allah. There is no comparison in the history of the world for the boundless sacrifices and sacrifices they have made and the indescribable persecution and torture they have endured.
This group of Companions, formed by the virtuous hands of the Prophet (peace be upon him), after his demise, spread the everlasting torch of faith and truth towards the earth. So today their graves are found from Istanbul to faraway China. Thanks to this great sacrifice and sacrifice of the Companions, we have got Deen today even after a long gap of fourteen years; I have received the light of faith and Tauhid.
Therefore, their benevolence towards the Ummah till the Day of Resurrection is immense; Their debt is irreparable. In order to find guidance and a straight path, they are the ones who have to follow us in the twists and turns of the path of life. Because the Companions are the real example of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Ershad has declared in the Qur'an that this blessed congregation is the standard of faith and truth.
When they are called; Believe as the people (the Companions) believe, shall we believe like fools? Remember they are stupid but they don't know that.
The eminent Companion Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) said, pointing out the virtue, dignity and position of this blessed congregation,
If one wants to follow someone's way, then one should follow the way of the past. Because the living person is not free from the possibility of fitna. They are the companions of Muhammad (peace be upon him). They were the best congregation of this Ummah in purity of heart, depth of knowledge and unpretentiousness. God chose them to associate with His Prophet and to establish the religion. So acknowledge their superiority and follow their ways and methods. Because they were on the straight path.
In fact, this is the unanimous aqeedah and fundamental belief of the Muslim Ummah about the blessed congregation of the Companions. It is true, of course, that the Companions were also earthlings, not angels of light. Similarly, the Prophets were not infallible. So it is neither impossible nor unusual for some of them to have isolated manifestations of human weakness in their lives. That is why the latter have no right to criticize the Sahaba Keram based on them, that is, to criticize them and kill them. Because of the purity of heart and soul, Allah has sent down to them a declaration of general satisfaction in the Holy Qur'an:
GOD is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him.
At the same time, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) certified them as follows:
My companions are like stars. So whoever follows them will be guided.
It was not unknown to the Messenger of Allah that after him a group of corrupt people of his ummah would criticize the Companions and eventually ruin the faith of themselves and their followers in the Hereafter. Therefore, he warned the Ummah about this in strong language and said:
Fear Allah about my companions! Fear God! Don't criticize them after my death.
Later, the leading figures of the Ummah also tried their best to prevent the destructive work of the Sahaba criticism. The Caliph Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (Rahmatullahi Alaihi) whipped only one person in his life. Criticism of the Companion Hazrat Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) was his crime.
In fact, on the day when there is a slight rupture in the trust and respect of the Ummah towards the Companions, the existing link between the Prophet and his Ummah will be severed and the whole foundation of religion and faith will collapse. Because the Companions were the first bearers of the Qur'an and Sunnah (words and meanings) and witnessed the revelation. Above all, they are the real example of the divine teachings and the initiation of the Prophet.
