Rule of prayer

On the days of menstruation of women and up to a maximum of 40 days after the birth of a child, Allah has permanently exempted them from praying. Even if someone recites it, it will not be acceptable and there is no need to perform these prayers in the future. And fasting has been temporarily exempted. Even if one fasts, it will not be accepted by Allah. But later, when he returns to his health and normalcy, he will be able to perform the missed fasts at a convenient time.

The following hadiths are presented in this regard:

It is narrated in that hadith:

On the authority of Abu Sa'id, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

Abu Saeed. He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Is it not true that when a woman starts menstruating, she does not pray and does not fast? (Sahih Bukhari, H / 1951)

In another hadith:

عَائِشَةَ قَالَتُ نَحِيضُ عَلَْدِ رَسُولِ اللَ اللههِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

Ayesha Ra. He said, "In the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), if we were pure, he would have instructed us to perform the fast, but he would not have instructed us to perform the prayer." (Bukhari, Muslim, Jame At-Tirmidhi, H / 8)

Maximum duration of postpartum hemorrhage is 40 days:

The blood that comes out of a woman's uterus during and after childbirth is the blood of the breath. When the baby is born in the normal process, bleeding flows from the uterus for several days. It is more or less depending on the physical condition of women. Its lowest term may be one day. The maximum period is 40 days.

◉ Umm Salama Ra. It is narrated in the following hadith:

The souls were on the covenant of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.

"In the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), women who were in labor would take a break for forty days." (Sahih Abu Dawood, H / 311-Albani)

◉ In another description:

The woman was one of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

“If any of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) died, he would take a break for forty days. He would not instruct him to perform the nifas prayer. " (Irwaul Galil, Ha 201-Hasan)

Imam Tirmidhi said:

The companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to him, تُصلِ في ، فكذلك النفساء.

The Companions, the Tabi'is and their later scholars agreed that a pregnant woman should abstain from prayer for 40 days. But if you see holiness before that, then it is different. Then in this case he will start the prayer by taking a bath. There is also a consensus that a pregnant woman is similar to a menstruating woman in all cases, halal, haram, makrooh, mustahab, etc. And they agree that menstruating women should not pray in the same way as pregnant women. ”

If one's discharge does not stop even after forty days have elapsed, then the ruling on prayers and fasting will be imposed on him and in this case it will be considered as istehaja (discharge due to illness); Not as nefas. This is a recognized and self-evident matter.
