Biography and events of Hazrat Abu Ubaida Ibn Jarrah (R)
Abu Ubaida Ibn Jarrah (R): The Prophet. Says: ‘Likulli Ummatin Aminun, Wa Aminu Hajihil Ummah Abu Ubaida - Every nation has a faithful person. And Abu Ubaida is the absolute believer of this Muslim nation. '
He had a bright face, fair complexion, light slender build and long body. Seeing him would open the eyes of any person, devotion and love would arise in the heart of the meeting and a feeling of dependence would be created in the heart. He was sharp-witted, extremely humble and shy in nature. But in any moment of crisis, a lion-like characteristic would emerge in him. His characteristic brilliance and sharpness was like the edge of a sword. The Prophet. In language, he was Muhammad's 'Amin' in the Ummah - a trustworthy person.
His full name is Amil bin Abdullah bin Jarrah Al-Fihri Al Quraishi. However, he is known to everyone only as Abu Ubaida. His fifth superior man ‘Fihrer’ through Rasulullah. His nasab has merged with nasab. Daughter of his Mao Fihri family. According to Sirat experts, he converted to Islam.
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar. The comment is: ‘The three men of the Quraish are the best of all others for their good looks, good character and lasting shyness. If you tell them anything, don't lie, and if you tell them something, don't think you're a liar. They are Abu Bakr Siddiq, Uthman ibn Affan and Abu Ubaida ibn Jarrah.
Abu Ubaidah was one of the first converts to Islam. He converted to Islam the day after Hazrat Abu Bakr became a Muslim. He declared his Islam at the hands of Abu Bakr. Then he accompanied Abdur Rahman ibn Auf, Uthman ibn Majoon, Al-Arqam ibn Abil Arqam and the Prophet with him. Appear in court. Everyone there declared Islam at once. Thus they are the first foundation of the great Islamic edifice.
From the beginning to the end of the bitter experience of the Muslims in Makkah, Abu Ubaidah was a partner. In each case, they have seized it, despite obstacles we can scarcely imagine. " Exhausted by the persecution of the Quraish, he migrated to Abyssinia twice. Then after the migration of the Prophet, he also migrated to Medina. In Madinah, his ‘religious muakhat’ or religious brotherhood was established with Sa’d bin Muaz. But on the day of the battle of Badr, the rigor of Abu Ubaidah's test was beyond all imagination. He continued to attack the infidels on the battlefield as if he were completely indifferent to death. The polytheists became terrified of his attack and their cavalry fled in disorientation for fear of their lives. But one of the enemy men turned around and stood in front of him. And he, too, began to move away from her as if he were avoiding the meeting. The man entered the crowd. Abu Ubaidah also avoided him there. Eventually he came between the enemy and Abu Ubaidah and became an obstacle. When his patience was broken, he cut off the man's head with one blow of his sword. The man fell to the ground.
Who is the man? He is no more. He is Abdullah ibn al-Jarrah, the father of Abu Ubaidah. In fact Abu Ubaidah did not kill his father, he killed shirk or paganism in the form of his father. After this incident, Allah revealed the following verse in honor of Abu Ubaidah and his father.
‘You will never see people who believe in Allah and the Hereafter ever love those who love Allah and His Messenger. Whether they be their father, or their son, or their brother, or their family. They are the ones in whose hearts Allah has firmly established faith, and by bestowing a spirit from Himself, He will admit them to Gardens beneath which rivers flow. They will abide therein forever. GOD is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. These are the party of God. Know that only the party of Allah will prosper. '(Al-Mujadila - 22)
Abu Ubaidah is not surprised by such behavior. This is because his firm belief in Allah, his devotion to the religion, and his fidelity to Muhammad in the Ummah made him such a final figure that many great people envied him. Muhammad ibn Jafar said: ‘A delegation of Christians came to the Prophet. Appeared in the court and said- O Abul Qasim! Send us one of your nominees from among your peers. He will decide some of our disputed assets. Your Muslim society is acceptable to all of us. Hearing this, the Prophet. He said: 'Come to me again in the evening. I will send with you a strong and trustworthy person. 'Hadrat' Umar ibn al-Khattab said: 'I came to the mosque that morning to perform the Zuhr prayer. And I have never longed for leadership like this day. The only reason, I can be the Prophet. This is the vessel of praise.
Rasulullah SA. He finished the Zohar prayer with us and started looking to the right and left. And I also raised my neck a little to catch his eye. But he rolled his eyes and saw Abu Ubaidah ibn Jarrah at one point. He called him and said: ‘Go with them and judge their dispute on the basis of truth and justice.’ I then said to myself: Abu Ubaidah snatched this dignity away.
Abu Ubaidah was not only a depositor, he always accumulated all his strength for the deposit. Its manifestation occurred in different cases.
On the eve of the battle of Badr, the Prophet to follow the movements of the Quraish caravan. Send a group of disciples. They appointed Abu Ubaida as their emir. They are given some khorma as patheya. Every day Abu Ubaidah used to give only one khorma to each of his companions. They spent the whole day sucking and drinking water, like sucking the breast of a baby's mother. Thus he used to give only one khorma from morning to evening. Like the mother sucking the breasts of her children, she would spend the whole day sucking the khorma and drinking water. Thus from morning to evening only one khormai was enough for them. In some narrations the incident has been described as follows: In the month of Rajab in the eighth Hijri, the Prophet. He sent a force led by Abu Ubaidah to observe the movements of the Quraish in the coastal areas. There was no other way with them except some dates. The daily allotment for each of the soldiers was only one date. He spent some time eating this one date. Eventually, Allah removed their danger. They found a huge fish on the shore and relied on it to return to Medina. Maybe these were two separate incidents.
When the Muslims were defeated in the battle of Uhud and the polytheists shouted loudly, "Where is Muhammad, where is Muhammad?" At that time Abu Ubaidah was one of the ten people who asked the Prophet to get the book. He protected the polytheists from the arrows. Rasulullah was seen at the end of the war. His teeth were martyred, his forehead was stained with blood, and two shackles of armor were tied around his chin. Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq hurried to remove the two shackles. Abu Ubaidah said to him, ‘By Allah! You let me go. 'He let go. Abu Ubaidah was afraid when he lifted the two shackles with his hands. Maybe you'll get in trouble. He gritted his teeth hard and picked up the first one. But he also broke another tooth. Then Abu Bakr. He remarked: ‘Abu Ubaidah is the best man.’ He also took part in the expedition to Khandak and Bani Quraiza. He signed the historic Treaty of Hudaybiya as a witness. He displayed the culmination of courage and valor in the Khyber expedition. In order to help the forces of Hazrat Amr Ibn al-As in the expedition of 'Jatus Salasil', the Prophet (peace be upon him) along with two hundred soldiers Send Abu Ubaida back. They win. Abu Ubaida was a participant in all aspects including the conquest of Mecca and the Taif campaign. Farewell Hajj to the Prophet. Was a traveling companion.
After accepting Islam, the Prophet. Until the last day of his life, Abu Ubaidah always followed him like a shadow.
There is a heated debate in Sakifa and Bani Sayeda over the election of a caliph. Abu Ubaidah delivered an important speech aimed at the Ansar. He warned them: ‘O people of Ansar! You are the first helpers. Today, you are not the first to cause division. 'At one point, Hazrat Abu Bakr said to Abu Ubaida,' Raise your hand, I swear allegiance to you. I told the Prophet. I heard him say: ‘Every nation has a faithful person, you are that faithful person of this nation.’ In reply, Abu Ubaidah said: He has commanded us to lead the prayers and he has led the prayers till his death. 'After this, the oath of allegiance was taken by Abu Bakr. After Abu Bakr became the caliph, he played the role of his best advisor and helper in the cause of truth, justice and welfare. After Abu Bakr, Hazrat Umar took charge of the caliphate. Abu Ubaidah also obeyed him.
Hazrat Abu Bakr. After taking charge of the caliphate, he decided to launch an operation in Syria in 13 AH. He ordered Abu Ubaidah to travel to Hims, Yazid bin Abu Sufyan to Damascus, Shurahbil to Jordan, and 'Amr ibn al-As to Palestine. Abu Ubaida was appointed commander-in-chief of the combined forces. The cities of Damascus, Hims, Lajekia, etc. were conquered by Abu Ubaidah. He was the one who waged that terrible battle of Yarmouk. Baitul Makdas participated in the victory by responding to the call of 'Amr Ibnul' As. When the people of Baitul Makdas expressed their desire for a treaty with Caliph Umar himself, Abu Ubaidai wrote a letter to the Caliph informing him of this. When the Caliph arrived in Jabia to sign the treaty, Abu Ubaidah greeted him. In 17 AH, Hazrat Khalid Saifullah was removed from the post of Amir and Wali of Damascus and Caliph Umar Abu Ubaida was appointed in his place. Hazrat Khalid Saifullah said to the people, "You should be happy that Aminul Ummah is your guardian."
Muslim forces led by Abu Ubaidah have been occupying the entire territory of Syria with one victory after another. At that time, there was an epidemic in Syria and thousands of people fell victim to it every day. Caliph Hazrat Umar. He himself reached a place called 'Sarg' from the capital Medina to find out for himself. Abu Ubaida, along with other leaders, welcomed the caliph there. The elder consulted the Muhajirs and the Ansar on the matter. Everyone unanimously voted for the members of the army to leave. Hazrat Umar invited everyone to return to Medina with him tomorrow. Abu Ubaidah, a firm believer in destiny, crouched down. He asked the caliph: ‘A firarum min qadillah - is this not an escape from the destiny of Allah?’ The caliph lamented: ‘Alas! If only someone else would have said the word! Yes, I am running away from the destiny of Allah. But towards another destiny. Abu Ubaidah remained there with his army. Hazrat Umar, the Caliph of the Muslims, reached Medina and sent a letter to Abu Ubaidah through an envoy. "I really need you," he wrote in the letter. I am urgently calling you. If this letter of mine reaches you at night, you will leave before morning. And if it arrives during the day, then leave before evening. "Receiving this letter from Caliph Umar, he commented:" I understand the need for Amir al-mu'minin. He wants to save the one who is not alive. Then he wrote: "Amir al-mu'minin, I understand your need. I am among the Muslim Mujahideen. I do not expect to save myself from what has happened to them. I do not want to leave them until Allah has made a final decision between me and them. Once you receive this letter from me, reverse your decision and allow me to stay here. "
Hazrat Umar read this letter and cried so desperately that tears flowed from his eyes. Seeing his tears, the people around him asked him: ‘Amirul Mu’minin, has Abu Ubaida passed away?’ He said: ‘No. But he is on the verge of death.
Hazrat Umar's idea was not false. Within a few days he contracted the plague. On the eve of his death, he gave a short sermon on his army. By God!
