When it comes to sulphur, its an amorphous element, reactive, odourless as well as tasteless substance. It can be of smell like rotten eggs if present as some compound (sulfides or sulfates). Its of great medicinal importance and found to be a antimicrobial, antifungal and antibacterial. Importance of sulphur for human body:
Its a very important element present in proteins. In diluted forms it cures dandruff.
Cures wounds of herpes.
It cures itch caused by mites on skin (scabies).
It cures acne when mixed in diluted portions with other lotions or creams.
Cures hay fever when used as nasal spray.
Cures old wounds with infection.
Cures common cold when used as nasal spray.
Cures hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol) if been drunk mixed with water in absolute diluted forms. 
Excellent for hair growth and skin health.
Cures rosecea (big pimples on face filled with liquid).
Removes hair lice.
Cures seborrhea (red itchy and inflammed scalp).
Treats inflammatory conditions.
 Helpful in treating stomach issues in very diluted portions.

Harmful effects:
Dryness of skin and may be skin cracking.
Do not use in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

 It can cause laxation (diarrhea).
