That health is Wealth is an overstated cliché that many have come to take for granted. Being alive and fully living (as opposed to managing to go through each day) does not happen by Chance or daily positive confessions of 'sickness is not my portion in Jesus name!' while continuing in health damaging practices. It takes diligent efforts and will on our part
Our bodies can be likened to a house (or temple,as the Scripture describes it). Now there are different types of houses— while some can be pulled down by any wind or Storm, others are more rugged and can withstand most,if not all storms and winds that come by. If we examine why one stood and the other fell,we are likely to find that the house that fell likely had some defects in it's construction and that the building materials used might have had a very strong foundation and pillars built with superior quality materials
Of particular concern are children of God who are either ignorant of what to do or simply refuse to maintain a healthy lifestyle. A philosopher once said ,"We have made of our bodies living Cesspools (gutters), and driven doctors to invent names for our diseases." How true! But this will be unnecessary if we imbide good health habits.
To have bodies that will enable us live healthy and fulfilled lives, certain pillars of health must be in place.
These include:
1. GO RAW!
Going raw, here,is used to mean eating more raw foods and less cooked foods as opposed to not eating cooked food at all (as proposed by some nutritioniss). Why go raw?
Scientists have firmly established that food is severely damaged and degraded by the cooking process. In cooking,we destroy most of the vital nutrients such as the minerals and Vitamins in foods that make them worth eating in the first place. To be fair, anytime you pricess a food, including the freezing and drying process, there are similar losses. This merely shows us why whole, raw fruits and vegetables are superior to any sort of processed version of them.
Nutrients can also be washed out of foods by fluids introduced during the cooking process. Boiling a potato, for instance, will cause most of its B and C Vitamins to be carried off in the water. Some argue that these Vitamins can be recovered if you drink water, but how usable the Vitamins are to the body after they've boiled in water for several minutes is debatable.
Similar losses occur when you use oil to broil, roast or fry a food and then drain it off. It's even worst when you fry.
Frying food not only makes it difficult to digest but also change the chemical composition of thr oil used. Cooking at high temperature can damage the oil. The heat not only damages the fatty acids contained in the oils,it can also change thrm to harmful substances..
I'll be stopping here for today,my next post will be the continuation.
Stay tuned!
