I have seldome heard a lot of persons say "thank God it's friday". That word is simply a short way of expecting the supposed rest for the entire week days that will span through the same friday down to sunday when workers would at least have had some little time of their own to enjoy their only free days and time off work.
The next on the cards once it's friday is that of many persons seeking some short vaccations in some far away places in order to make the most out of their resting days off work that starts exactly on a friday afternoon after work.
For some, it is the right time for them to spend some of their hard earned monies in bars, pup houses and many other relaxation centres while to others, it all seem like the right day or time to go to many site seeing locations where they can atleast have the joy and privilege to watch films at cinemas as they are shown live or perhaps engage in many sporting activities which their ever elusive time would not allow them to have done so due to their tight work schedules and many more unmentioned engagements starting from friday down to yesterday being Sunday.
My own case was quite different from the others i mentioned above. First of all, i was very happy just like everyother worker would be given the fact that it was a friday when i will atleast rest from my ever busy and tight office schdules. Though, that joy was shortlived being a worker in the aviation industry where leaves, vaccations, public holidays and other free days are usually difficult to come by as the aviation industry is but the ever busiest of the other well meaning industries in that the movement of flights are done on a daily basis even on extreme weather conditions. That for sure buttresses the point i'm trying to make known here about the ever busy moments at the aviation industry.
In addition to all that and as God would have it, I was happily glad seeing that my off day fell very much at the peak of it being on friday down to sunday. This was made possible because of the routine duty roaster we drafted on our own which guides our daily input at the office as much as how we shared the off days in order to accomodate everyone individually, faily and evenly amongst us all.
In the end, i was totally happy to have seen mine fall on a friday which will give me that ample opportunity to make the most out of all the weekend days.
First thing i did the moment i was back from the office on that friday was to pick up a few of my belongings and then head straight to my car which i had also bought from a cutomer of mine who needed to sell off his vehicle at my mecahnic workshop just last week and straight up, we drove off.
The sedan car is a manual transmission which rather made it more and more difficult for me to drive it since i learnt how to drive a car with an automatic transmission that allows an easier movement any time one sits on wheels to drive through.
Another reason why i didn't drive the car aside being a manual transmission vehicle is the fact that i found it very difficult to drive on the highway considering the ever too many presence of heavy duty vehicles, trucks, trailers and of course other sedan cars that are usually applying the ever busy Ogun road on a full blown speed that will almost want to leave you with your heart in your palms while you beg for grace from God to atleast stay alive and finish off the journey you startedππ
With that in mind, i invited a friend of mine called Bobby to help me do the driving buisiness down to Ogun State which is a large state amongst all the states in Nigeria and with a population of nearly six million (6million) people, This state offers all that could help one relax oneself with. The calls my driver friend Bobby made while on wheels driving pissed me off that i had to without wasting any further time, cushioned that effect and restored normality. That was a very wrong thing to do going by the safe driving tips according to the Federal Road Safety Commission act of the 1999 constitution which is found on page 2, paragraph 6 as amended(that no driver by law is allowed to receive or make call while driving on either of the highways or the regular roads and that any failure whatsoever in complying with said laws as was amended in the 1999 constitution, shall be tantamount to a payable fine of 50,000 naira(that's a little more than $100) for every defaulter that is found doing such a dastard act. That could cause an accident either a ghastly one or fatal one cos the ever busy Trunck A express road is what we are talking about here if you recall.
The state in question has good standard hotels and bars that could house many tourists overtime. It also makes do with high mountainous regions and plain valleys and many bushes where animals can be raised.
More of it was the pepper soup we took there that contained all the richness of items that made it worthy of what price it was sold for and the very cold beer drinks to send the well prepared and garnished pepper soup down through the right channel. Made from the best part in a beef meat, it looks yummy and tasty isn't it? Hahahahaha, no worries, when you are ready to have such a delicious taste of a well prepared pepper soup as did i, just give me a call and i'll be ever glad to helping you get some across hmmmn!ππππ. Here's the number to call if you are interested in eating such a deliciously prepared pepper soup with me; +2348133608809.ππ.
It also has some acestral places like the shrines and many other utral mordern and ancient artifades that are usually kept at the ever popular Ogun Meseum for history purposes.
What that also caught my eye is that they have very beautiful women who still understands how to dress in the real African way that is worthy of being justified or appreciated with the huge title of an African Queen and I was very happy to have gotten a crush on one, two, three or thereabout I won't lie to you. You really needed to be here and see these lovely beauties in display yourself as action they say, speaks louder than voice.
All the same, I really had fun enjoying myself alongside Bobby my driver friend lolzzz who was just having the privelege of being in Ogun State for the first time in his entire life being a Nigerian.
Pls do forgive my poor manners as I never really had any opportunity to take pictures of these beautifully visited places in Ogun State by me due to the very poor weather conditions that spoilt my fun almost though with some inccessant heavy downpour of rains with much breaks in between.
In all, my vaccation to Ogun State was generally a good success and an experience of a life time though not because i've not been inOgun State before but the fact that I enjoyed my days there with an opprotunity of visiting many places i've never ever being to before. How happy i was having such an experience as did my friend too who never stopped eating the people's local dish that is called Amala and a well garnished Efo soup.
Amala is a yam paste that is made from the peels of a tuber of yam's back which is allowed to dry up in the hot sun where it expected to become stonelike. Then it will be taken to a local grinder who would grind it into powder form and then have it made with hot water while you keep on stirring it until that solid and stonefree shape is actualized and then served hot with some nicely made either of vegetable soup that is locally knlown as Gbegiri, Ewedu or the melon made soup that is also known as Obe Egwusi.
We really enjoyed and caught some fun before heading back home to Lagos State our host state which shares a common boundary with Ogun State and its people.
The journey although should have been a journey that would have lasted for nothing less than thirty to forty-five minutes (30-45mins) because of the nearness of Ogun state to that of Lagos state, then lasted for a period of three to four hours (3-4hrs) because of the ever busy and notorious traffic jam that are hiterto found along the Ogun state axis.
It was indeed a ver frustrating traffic as we were made to endure even the harsh sun though I never really felt it as my car has a fully fitted factory airconditioner that helped cooled down our body temperatures and increased our determination to further the dissapointment of being static and rooted to a single spot for several hours without any hope of getting home.
Lastly, one very tip i'd like to share with everyone here is that of ensuring that they embark on such journeye down to Ogun State on vehicles with a highly raised shock obeservers as the Ogun State roads unfortunately are a big mess of its own shadows that require much urgent attention by the government of the day if that which i fear the most will not chance good morning.

We often say TGIF here which basically means Thank God It's Friday :) Especially common for people in the workforce. You seem to have enjoyed your trip :)
