On October 25, 2022, the Moon interacted with the Sun. A partial solar eclipse appeared in the sky and covered most of Europe, the Middle East, but also parts of Western Asia, North Africa and Greenland.
The October 25 event occurred when the moon blocked part of the sun's disk as seen from Earth. About 86% of the Sun's surface was covered by the Moon. People were able to admire this phenomenon from the areas of Europe and Asia.
The phenomenon could be observed from all over Romania, the coverage of the Sun being between 33 and 44%. The areas where the coverage was higher are in the north-east of the country, with 44% coverage.
The eclipse began in Bucharest at 12:26 p.m. and reached its maximum at 1:38 p.m., when the Sun was 38% covered.
