There are some things that should not be reused in order not to pose a health risk, as they are made of non-recyclable materials.

Recycling is an important thing in our life, there are things that should not be disposed of and used again for many purposes, but on the other hand, some other things can pose health risks if they are reused.

Here are the most important things that are not recommended to be used more than once so as not to pose a risk to health.

1- Mineral water bottles

There are many types of plastics that are used for multiple purposes, including some that can be recycled.

Among the common types of plastics are those used to make mineral water bottles, with the number 1 inscribed on them, and this type of plastic is not suitable for use more than once, and if it is recycled it would pose a risk to health.

This applies to any plastic bottles labeled # 1, or any plastic made with the chemical Bisphenol A BPA.

As this substance interferes with sex hormones, and can affect ovulation, it can cause PCOS, and negatively affect the endometrium, and it may even lead to breast cancer.

Also, the frequent use of plastic bottles makes it secrete a chemical carcinogen, in addition to increasing the chances of the accumulation of germs in large quantities.

That is why it is recommended to buy plastic bottles that do not contain BPA, as Free BPA is written on them, and it is preferable to choose water bottles made of glass for refilling.

2- The condom

Men are warned to re-use a condom for sexual intercourse, even if it was washed well after its first use.

The explanation for this is that condoms are specially made to protect husbands from the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, such as syphilis and chlamydia, in addition to avoiding pregnancy at a time that is not suitable for both partners.

As for reuse it will reduce the protective effect of it, because it becomes more prone to tearing during sexual intercourse as a result of heat and frequent friction.

Also, just washing a condom with soap and water will not kill any bacteria or virus on its surface, and it may contribute to gonorrhea.

3- Styrofoam cork dishes

Utensils made of Styrofoam or polystyrene, known as "cork", are known to be non-recyclable, and are usually used by stores to place food or hot drinks in them.

As it is considered a carcinogen in the event of reuse, it can also cause eye irritation, fatigue, poor focus, and thyroid function imbalance, in addition to various types of cancers.

In general, it is advised not to use this substance completely, but if you buy any product inside it, it must be disposed of and not used again, because the harmful components in it can leak into food or drinks.

4- Pizza containers

It is not allowed to reuse containers made of cardboard or paperboard, which are used in fast food stores, especially pizza.

The outer layer of these carton containers is made of the carcinogen fluorine, which helps to get rid of the condensation of oils present in these foods and prevent their sticking to it.

And when hot food comes into contact with this made outer layer, it turns into a carcinogen.

This applies to containers of popcorn and any cardboard products with a fluorine coat.

Therefore, it must be disposed of immediately after using it for the first time and not being used again.

5- Diapers

Some mothers resort to re-using diapers for children, especially those that have not been wet by the child.

This may expose the child to some damage, because the used nappy has been exposed to bacteria and germs that cannot be seen with the naked eye, especially if it is kept until it is used.

Consequently, these bacteria are transferred to the child's skin, causing inflammation, irritation and sensitivity of the skin, accompanied by redness and itching.

It is not recommended to reuse the nappy even after washing it, and a nappy cream should be used, which reduces the chances of irritation in the sensitive area of the child.

6- Frying oil

Many women do not know the risk of reusing frying oil more than once, and they think that this is something that saves the home budget.

But in exchange for this savings, the frying oil used more than once is a great danger to the health of all family members.

Here are the risks of repeated frying in the same oil:

_ The presence of carcinogenic compounds in the oil: which can lead to cancer, and this is the result of oxidation that occurs in the oil due to repeated frying with it.

_ The spread of bacteria in the oil: and then transfer to the food that is fried, these bacteria penetrate into the oil to feed on the food remnants inside it after its previous use, which increases the chances of food poisoning.

_ Toxins are formed in the oil: In the case of repeated use of oils rich in fatty acids, such as corn oil, sunflower oil and soy oil, these toxins are transferred to foods and then to those who eat them, causing heart disease.

The reuse of heating the oil again causes its decomposition, and the presence of fatty substances permeating the food and causes many diseases such as high blood pressure and clogged arteries.
