Methods to help focus during study

Many students want to study and achieve their goals, but they suffer from many problems that hinder the study process, and the most prominent of these problems is the problem of lack of focus, the following are ways to help raise the level of concentration:

Turn off mobile phone:

The mobile phone is one of the most prominent distracting factors for students, as as soon as any notice arrives, the student will pay attention to it and this causes the chain of thoughts to be cut off and thus dispersed, so it is recommended to close it during the study period.

Preparing the place of study:

The student must choose the place of study with great accuracy, as the study room must be equipped with all the tools or water and a snack of food so that he does not have to go out during the study period, but if the home environment is not calm, he can go to outside places designated for study.

Study during times of peak activity:

Every person has a time during the day that he feels and that he is in full energy and focus, and this time may be in the early morning or evening, but what is important is that this time is used by studying.

Eat healthy food:

Healthy and healthy food helps keep the body in a state of activity and this helps focus more on studying.

Sleep regularly and adequately:

Many students resort to neglecting sleep, increasing the number of school hours while reducing the number of sleep hours, but this is not true most of the time, as the body needs regular sleep to remain refreshed and in a state of activity to complete the study process.

Take breaks:

The continuous long study hours cause severe fatigue to the body and thus the student to lose focus completely, so a tight schedule must be established, including breaks, to relieve stress.

Reading aloud while studying helps keep the body in a constant state of focus and attention.

It is advisable to take notes and summarize the dense and long information, as this helps to familiarize yourself with the subject and thus increase the focus.

Set goals:

To increase focus, the goal of each study session must be determined and the amount of material that must be completed during it, and not to study randomly, as organizing and identifying materials greatly helps in reducing distraction.

Stop thinking negatively:

Thinking about the consequences of matters and results negatively contributes to a decrease in focus during the study process and distraction greatly, so the student should try to avoid thinking about these negative thoughts to maintain his focus.

Meditation:

Studies issued by the American Psychological Association have proven the importance of meditation in expelling negative energy from the body, reducing stress, and thus increasing focus and improving mental state.

Foods that help improve memory and increase focus

There are many foods and drinks that help the body and increase its energy and thus be able to do tasks such as studying better, here are some of those foods:

  • Coffee: Coffee helps get a dose of activity as it contains caffeine, but its effect may be short-lived.

  • Natural juices: Natural juices contain a high percentage of natural sugar that is beneficial to the body, and this type of sugar is the best stimulator for the body to increase its activity and concentration.

  • Eating breakfast: Due to time pressure, many students tend to neglect breakfast, but it has a great benefit in improving long-term memory and increasing activity and focus during the day.
