Muhammad Ali is the name of a fearless soldier. Who was not only the best boxer in the world, was a humane person, was a person who was vocal against injustice. A person who protested against injustice, untruth, tyranny all his life knowing that his career and life will be endangered.

I have no quarrel with Vietnamese people. I will not be involved in torture, killing, bombing people in a country 10 thousand miles away just to maintain the supremacy of white skinned. These injustices should stop on earth.

The words were spoken by a man who had love for humanity, knowing that his playing career might be over. He stood against the state. The license to play was temporarily banned. He was also arrested.

A restaurant in Rome refused to serve food to Muhammad Ali even after becoming an Olympic gold medalist.

Despite that, he did not do anything against humanity. The man is our favorite boxer Muhammad Ali. He is said to be one of the greatest athletes of all time. Today I will briefly present the biography of this beloved man.

Cassius Marcus Clay, that was his name before converting to Islam. Ali was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky to a middle-class African-American family. Father Cassius Marcus Clay Sr. was a billboard painter. Mother is a housewife.

Ali's arrival in boxing was quite dramatic. At the age of 12, Ali caught a bicycle thief. Louisville police officer Joe Martin was impressed when he punched the thief during the capture. This Martin was Ali's first boxing coach.

On October 29, 1960, at 18 years and 286 days, Muhammad Ali made his debut in the boxing ring against Tani Hansekar. Then till 1963 he played 19 matches and won all of them. 15 of these victories were by "knock outs'.

During that time, Ali defeated boxers such as Jim Robinson, Henry Cooper, George Logan, Alonso Johnson and Johnny Fleaman. He also lost to Archie Moore in 1962. The match between Ali and Doug Jones in 1963 was the 'Fight of the Year'. The match took place at 'Madison Square Garden' in New York.

Muhammad Ali was so happy when he came to Bangladesh, he went back and told everyone, 'If you want to see heaven, go to Bangladesh'.

That match was the toughest match for Ali. There was great competition till 10 rounds. In the end, Ali won. He was one of the contenders for the World Heavyweight Championship in late 1963.

Sonny Liston was the heavyweight champion at that time. Not only a great boxer, he was also know as a criminal in the police register. The date of the fight with Ali was fixed on 25 February 1964.

Ali was the underdog, but before the match, Ali said to Liston," He's a big ugly bear." His body smells like a bear. After losing, I will donate him to the zoo.

Ali started this fight of words to mentally upset Liston. Before the match, Ali shouted to everyone, today someone will die in the boxing ring! In the end, Ali 'knocked out' Liston in the biggest upset in the boxing ring at the time.

However, Joe Frazier later became Ali's best opponent. The Ali-Frazier fight was watched by billions of people around the world on TV.

1960 was a memorable year in Ali's life. He won gold in boxing at the Rome Olympics. Despite being an Olympic gold medalist, he was refused food in a restaurant in Rome. "Crime" he was black!

In anger, grief, humiliation, Ali threw the Olympic medal into the Tigris River. In 1961, American black leader Malek EI Shahbaz (Malcolm X) accepted Islam. Since then he became known as 'Mohammed Ali'.

Not everyone could take the new identity easily. Big sponsors turned away. In 1967, he was called to the Vietnam War, but he refused to go to war on behalf of humanity. He was sent to jail.

In 1978, this sportsman who is considered to be the greatest athlete of all time came to Bangladesh in 1978. Millions of people turned up to welcome Ali at the airport. Bangladesh citizenship was also given at that time. He was so happy when he came to Bangladesh, he went back and told. everyone, 'If you want to see heaven, go to Bangladesh.'

This great boxer retired in 1981.

However, Ali has fought for a long time. He had to fight with Parkinson's disease. The legendary boxer breathed his last at the age of 74 on June 3,2016 in a hospital in Arizona USA.

Several movies have been made in Hollywood based on Muhammad Ali's biography. Among these are The Super fight, The Greatest, Freedom Roam and Ali.

The movie 'Mohammed Ali' was released in 2001 based on the biography of Muhammad Ali. American actor Will Smith was nominated for an Oscar for playing the role of Muhammed Ali in that movie.
